Ali Mirza has argued that if Dan Gibson was right, why didn't he pick a location where the difference between the Qibla was higher than just a few degrees, such as Madina. From Madina, the difference between Petra and Mecca is 180 degrees. Gibson conveniently picks places where the difference is just a few degrees, because he knows his theory will be proven wrong if he does otherwise, these are a few things Ali Mirza has said.

@siebenhundertein zwanzig this man here is not only an Islamic scholar but also a certified engineer and also giving mathematical contexts from point of observers from a far away place and how several mosques without proper navigation system have been constructed in old times not pointing towards mecca but that doesn't justify Dan's claims that Qibla is Petra not Mecca as the most nearest example is Madina city where it can be seen that the mosques point towards Mecca and in a direction 180 degrees opposite to Petra. Summary: Qibla is Mecca and Dan is one of those flat earth conspiracy theorists which sometimes get overhyped by fanatics who're trying to find some single person like him to use to support their own agendas.

That is a poor argument. The original Makkah was destroyed in an Earthquake. They created a new city in a new location and called it Makkah. They didn't have to change the Quran
