It's because you've come from a very oppressive society when you were forming who you are and that's regardless of your natural shyness, as you've learnt not to put any signals out. You are not alone. This is the outcome for so many people from really difficult backgrounds. It's hard to break these cycles and ways of approaching things. You're great and all the best.
