I think there's a lot of "rules" in the plant world, like drainage, no hoya in terracotta, etc , and honestly those rules scared me as a beginner! I was sure that any plant I repotted would die if I didn't do it quite right. I appreciate that you do different things and it all works out!

Do not repot a Hoya based on the calendar, I have some in planters for years. Hoya don’t love their roots being messed with in my experience so I’m careful. I do like drainage and clear pots on Hoya because I can see the level of wet near roots

9:20 I totally know what you mean about plant blooms. My Hoya Bella is flowering for the first time and I don't think it's physically possible to be more excited than I am. I know it's a pretty commun variety, but it's my only hoya, and it was a gift, and it's blooming for the first time and I'm just so happy.

I used to be anti-pots without drainage until I watched your recent videos where you put horticultural charcoal at the bottom. I started doing that too and haven’t had any issues with root rot thankfully!

I love potting in no drainage specially using glass vessels so I can see the roots. I dislike having to take my plants to the sink to water and even the dish trays I use (that I now thrift because of you, thank you!) I sometimes find tedious emptying it out. Anyways, great video like always!! ❤

Yay, HarliG repot video!! I have a bunch of succulent pups (kalanchoe maybeee??) and I just repotted them into different little cups! And my giant African milf tree is finally back outside and is thriving, it was tired of being inside! 😅

I love a repotting video!! And you and the boys laughing was so sweet. I show my plants love by watering them. Often. So I use mostly terracotta and always have a drainage hole. Even then I have loved some plants to death. Whoops. I have gotten better now that I have more plants, I can spread the love (water) around a bit more. Just another excuse to buy more plants. 😂😂😂

First off, your babes appearance in the video, and their laughter, was so wonderful!! Secondly, I love Hoyas so much and would love seeing your Hoya content!! My carnosa just bloomed (2 flowers!!) and it was the most magical thing ever - especially since it was my first Hoya bloom!! And it happened on Mother’s Day!!

I only pot into no drainage when I know how easy the care is. Scindapsis, pothos, anything with leaves that can curl, I will carefully pot into no drainage, but I do get worried about adding too much water, but have been fine thus far.

I feel like the hoya's i have are so easy with watering, so i have them in a non drainage too and it works fine!

My no drainage are the pots sleeves that are pretty and cute. I plant everything in nursery pots. So they act as a plant tray at the same time.

Oh Harli, all of your Hoya are so beautiful that you repotted, I had alot of my Hoya get those stupid mealy bugs and I did lose a few of them. I treated them for a long time and this year is the first year ever that I got those mealy bugs. I have been repotting some of my plants and they seem alot happier now. I also really loved that last plant that you repotted it is so gorgeous in that new pot, and I remember last year I repotted a Hoya my mom gave me that was really rootbound and also got some propagations from it and they are doing so great and I think that I will start looking for the Hoya that I lost and buy them again. 4:41 I def also wait to remove ‘old leaves’ because I have had instances where after the up pot, some of the leaves on the cusp of yellowing have bounced back to full color! I always give it a chance to settle and see what happens. ❤

Hi Harli! I'm with you on massaging the roots and loosening them up so they can spread out for nutrients. I also plant -carefully- in no drainage vessels as I have some vintage pots I am not drilling holes into. I use a moisture meter and I don't have a problem.

I noticed yesterday that my massive hoya has 8 and counting blooms starting.... 😊

I have a palm with no drainage and its growing beautifully so as long as you know what your doing i think no drainage is fine.. I don't like the peat most stuff at Cactus and tropicals either by the way

I've just started venturing into the no-drainage stuff and it's been going great. I cant keep up with watering certain plants and its been a game changer for watering and keeping the roots moist. I like doing a layer of perlite at the bottom for the resevoir

Hoya Matilde. Serpens is tiny leaves and they are fuzzy.

Go ahead and taste the hoya bloom! I do and they taste great. I just touch my tongue to the necter on the open bloom.

I stopped using liquidirt but I can’t remember why. Now I think I’ll use it again. I use it with super thrive foliage-pro. I think I’ll try doing that again.

Love your videos, so relatable! If you have a certain plant you want in terra cotta, you can always paint it (or have you kids do it) and spray and seal it... thats what I do and now they're some of my favorite pots ... I agree it works well in some spaces, but not my super colorful room :)

My Hoya Multiflora also known as shooting star Hoya has a new peduncle bloom coming on. It’s a whole new peduncle my second one got sprayed with bug spray and it aborted the new buds. Then the third one popped out. If you want a spectacular bloom get one of these. Dark green foliage with white blooms that slowly turn yellow with age. They last about two weeks. Plus. Next to no scent, and no taste, yes I tasted it.

I could be wrong but your Jose Buono looks more like a Variegated Philodendron Gigantium.🌿 How ironic you sat it right next to the actual Jose Buono at the end lol 😂

I have only potted a couple plants in no drainage pots… an Ivy and a fittonia.. because they like lots of water, so i don’t feel like it will hurt them if I go over board… but I’m not totally against the idea.

Depends on the plant if I do no drainage holes. As I've pared down my plants, most are in no drainage and Spath Domino lives in a nursery pot on the shower floor

I have my big monstera deliciosa in non-drainage, and I love it, I also have my Hoya compacta and pothos in non-drainage terracotta.

My sister-in-law’s mother has kept Hoya pubicalyx in water for 40 years. Obviously, it doesn’t need a drainage hole. So the advice that you need to grow a Hoya with excellent drainage might depend upon the species.

hey, the philodendron you were repoting is not jose buono, it looks more like giganteum variegated or something. jose buono is literally next to giganteum at the end of the video lol.

I would drill a hole in the bottom or lately, I have been using clear pots and use it as a cache pot.

Not the most Hoya head but judging from a distance definitely a Hoya Mathilde and not a Hoya Serpens. But will say a Mathilde is a cross between a Serpens and a Carnosa.

Happy belated mother's day!! I need to get motivated to report a few things. I just saw a gnat. How does the mudwtr taste?? Is it earthy?? I want to get away from coffee and tea doesn't do enough for me. Curious to know what it tastes like. I know you love it. Have to make some lifestyle changes due to some blood work results
