Жыл бұрын'We said we wanted a ban on assault weapons. They said we're gonna assault democracy.' - Tennessee Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson spoke out upon being expelled from the state legislature.
The state GOP, which controls a supermajority in the legislature, successfully ousted the two Black lawmakers for their participation in a gun reform protest held at the state Capitol following the March 27 Covenant School shooting in Nashville.

I complained to the Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division! I was able to do that even though I am a 70 year old white woman in Mississippi. So you don’t have to be in Tennessee. Just Google the Division and you can condemn the expulsion too!

What we really need in politics is colorblindness. Democracy was Trampled heavily upon in Tennessee. Speaking truth to power certainly has its places and times, but if violating that was really the issue in Tennessee, the creamy Light brownish-beige woman would have been expelled right along with the two darker mocha brownish-beige men. The Tennessee GOP game itself away by their actions. In the movie Good Burger, Ed asks Dexter, "is it because I'm black". In the Tennessee legislature...Yes...Yes it was. BTW, stop calling people black and white. If you feel such a detail as skin color is relevant or necessary, call it like you really see it. If any human being is white or black, they have a medical condition that should be looked into. Something is wrong with them. Even people with no melanin are not white.
