Miku is the band founder and the only member of Band-Maid who sings & plays an instrument (guitar) in every song. (Except for the instrumentals). She also sings lead vocals on 1 song per album. (She was the band's original lead vocalist).

The Maids performing one of their (two) most performed songs: Freedom and Real Existence. But the Maids in this MV are pure perfection, aren't they? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure, imo! Great reaction! “Ice Queen” and “Barefoot Assassin” are nicknames that some English-speaking fans gave Saiki and Misa, but they don’t actually call themselves that. On the other hand, Akane is playfully teased as “Gorilla” by her bandmates.

From my point of view, there is no better example of modern 'rock'n'roll' that works perfectly even in this day and age. Not too complex, not too boring, just a damn good time. Great reaction guys. This is from the Feb. 2020 concerts (two days), the last live shows they did before the shutdown. They were on a roll and just starting to more traction and then two years of no live concerts, so they put on a number of live streams for the fans.

I saw them live last year for the ten year anniversary show! It is amazing seeing them live they are incredible amazingly talented ladies and very beautiful we had the best time at the show was over 2 hours long nobody opened for them it was just Band-Maid rocking out 🎸 and having fun with them in between songs etc 🤟😊🥁🎸🎸🎸🎤

A fun song that always brings extra smiles with it from the band. Akane is the happiest drummer on Earth as well as one of the very best. I always point out to reactors., when watching Freedom watch again, and notice on the left hand side you will see Miku and Kamal cheering, hooting and hollering, pumping their fists, and clapping for Akane during her drum Solo. How many bands have you ever seen that actually cheer each other on for doing an amazing job?? I certainly haven't.

The Japanese music scene is just better. So many extremely talented musicians. They are extremely suppotive of each other. Bamd Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila & others attend each others concerts and hang out with each other. To them it's not a popularity contest. I rarely listen to anything other than Japanese metal & rock these days after listening to all the huge metal bands from the 80/99's for decades. The talent & charisma from these bands is incredible.

You should check out the live performances of both Domination and Play, both of which are from this same show. Domination has a great breakdown in the live version and Play has a jam tacked onto the front of the original song. Even if you haven't heard the original version, you will know it when they reveal it, because the crowd goes nuts.

Thanks for the reaction and comments. I think you forgot to mention Miku (Little Pigeon). She is the heart of the band. Freedom is the Happy Song! Akana, the happiest drummer on the planet, goes all out King Kong mode here. These ladies absolutely own the stage. There are too many fantastic songs to react to. My suggestion is to pick one at random. You really can't go wrong. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers!

The in joke here from the crowd is chanting the word "Say". When Miku usually calls the crowd to sing a specific word or chant she follows it with the word "Say", the crowd then just copy it for a laugh. Akane's drum solo and Kanami's guitar solo were great, but Misa's bass playing is just so good- all the time.

One of the many awesome things about these five ladies is that they hop from one "genre" to another effortlessly - and sometimes they just go genreless. (Gasp!) Their songs can be simultaneously instantly recognizable and completely different from each other. THAT is songwriting genius.

Another "older" Band-Maid I hope you get a chance to react to is "Don't You Tell ME", the official live video from the same concert that "Hate?" came from. Now if you want to get an anime feature with the Maids, try "Unleash", the official music video featuring Band-Maid. Also there is an official live version of "Unleash" from the concert that have "Hate?", and "Don't You Tell ME".

Akane eats bananas on stage for energy. During one of "Miku's Magic Spell Times" a fan asked for her banana peel and she threw it out to him, ha ha. Miku blesses the crowd just like is done at a Maid Cafe.

Bananas and ramen for everyone! This is an older song that is linear and simple ... but it's the Akane show! Notice Akanes solo never loses the beat. It never repeats. This is sadly the ONLY extended drum solo in the entire catalog.

Great reaction !!! There are jus sooooooo many good songs for you to react to. During Covid they did a number of livestreams called Okyu-Ji for their fans where they do two songs in each one. Two in particular are just stellar. The first is with the songs "Manners" and "Black Hole", which once you watch it you will get it, lol. Another is with the songs "Dice" and "Different" with also slightly differing genres. This particular show was just before everything shut down and was at a great venue called Line Cube Shibuya. Some of their best live official videos have come from those concerts, such as "Real Existence", "Choose Me", "Play" and quite a few others. You have to go see them when they do another US Tour, it's a true experience. I've seen them three times, in NYC and NJ in 2022 and Memphis in 2023. They truly love their fans and we love them. There are absolutely no egos involved, all members pull together to get the job done. Get ready for a wild ride.......and you haven't even heard about "Band Maiko" yet, lol. That will be a real trip.

You should definitely check out the band The Warning and their song Automatic Sun as they are in The Land Of The Rising Sun (Japan) with Band-Maid right now cooking something up (hopefully a live collaboration). I was about to remind you about our ‘lil pigeon’, Miku, but I saw you already apologized for the oversight. 😊 Hey, If you like anime then try listening to an under-rated music anime video, “Memories of wind and wine” a 4 or 5 hundred year old REMAKE of an old folk song. It’s been done by orchestras, violins, horns over the hundreds of years and when the makers of the anime game wanted to use the tune but updated to rock/metal…..who do you think they chose for the job. It’s an instrumental and absolutely beautiful and absolutely BAND MAID! I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤

If you like anime, you have to do the Band-Maid music video for Unleash! Freedom was not written by the Maids,it is one of the earlier songs. The first to albums were written by others and the third album they wrote the song Alone and have wrote just about all their songs after that. It's fun seeing people experience these for the first time.Can't wait for you to get to even more Japanese bands. Not just rock and metal either jazz, r&b, and indie to name a few are all awesome.

Most USians are not aware of global info....most USians would be surprised that NYC & NYC metro areas are not among the top 10 most populated cities or metro areas worldwide. Hell, many of them don't realize Puerto Rico is a US territory. Nor do many recognize that Mexico & Canada are on the NA continent with us.

As an apolgy to Miku you should react to one of the song with her on leadvocal😁👍 Sayonakidori is fantastic. There is a great acoustic version of that song that is really beautiful and the original versipn is much harder. But both are great. Time is maybe my favorite Miku song. You mention how you liked how different they are, and how they should like they belong in an anime. Well... they actually have a song called "Different" and it is the opening to an anime (Log Horizon Season 3). I would recommend you check it out.

BAND-MAID do have anime theme songs. I would suggest you try their season two closer from the Netflix anime, Kengan Ahura, 'Shambles'. Unless you want to see BAND-MAID as an anime, then try 'Unleash'. Sai is like Mai, so to pronounce Saiki's name just say Psyche, (Sigh-Key), not sai-icky. And you forgot band founder, Miku.

don't ever use google translate for anything Japanese as it is simply not great at it. English and Japanese are too for from each other. BUT !! it does a half way decent job in pronouncing. So run their names in google translate and you will get a very good idea on how to say their names
