The biggest proof that this woman raised him properly is that Pepe was able to effortlessly make friends, and find his tribe in order to individuate from his nest at the normal progression of development, while still maintaining his relationship with his mother. Hats off to this woman! She must be an exceptional person.

Birds are so interesting. Sitting on a foggy beach in Washington I watched an older guy and a young woman play keep-away with a Seagull. It was just one Seagull. They threw the ball back and forth and the gull would chase it back and forth while occasionally catching it in mid-air. They would chase it around and yell at it good naturedly until it dropped the ball and the game would all start again. I was mesmerized. When they left I asked, inanely, if they weren't going to take "their" gull and they said "oh he isn't ours. She(he) shows up to play ball with us sometimes"....I'm sure I had a stupid look on my face and all I could say was "Oh".

The fact that this bird was able to not only learn how to do things any ordinary crow would learn but also join his own community of crows and occasionally visits his foster family just shows how remarkably intelligent crows are. They are geniuses and remember vividly who and what a thing is based on just about anything. Look, touch, sound, action. They are almost like children in that aspect.

Having raised foster crows alongside dogs.. this is kind of how it is.. the crows do what their ‘flock’ does :) Nothing like watching your dog and your crow play with a rope toy in the yard… or just hanging out with you when you are outside… Mine always got wilded out and eventually chose to go be crows- but many would seasonally bring their mates and offspring to visit and say hi 💕

There was a study at the University of Washington since there's a high number of crows/ravens in our state, people wore masks and made 'aggressive' like stances and tried to shoo crows away from their usual spots, they then did that for a specific amount of time and then waited for another specific amount of time before going back to the same areas, but this time without the masks and different outfits. Somehow both the same crows and different ones from before recognized the people who antagonized them without the masks on. As if the crows shared stories around a campfire and told the others as well as their own. Forgot the exact study and could be drawing from incorrect memory/info, but still shows how crows are very intelligent birds in both their sense of personality as well as individuality.

Crows communities actually communicate with each other about the humans who help and humans who harm. They have collective memory and pass the info to their children. Crows will actually locate lost items that their good humans lose. A woman who helped a crow, and feeds it, returned her lost cellphone case she lost in the park, as well as her daughter's earing. He left them on their birdbath a week after they lost them. Crows are super intelligent.

Reminds me of the crow we had when I was a child. Same thing happened. He did all the same things, hiding things in the pleats of the drapes in our house. He would go out every morning and fly off with his friends and return in the afternoons. One day he left with them and did not return.

Since dogs have been living with humans for a long time, they are said to be able to read our emotions. Many dog owners may have some idea of what they are feeling, such as going to the side of someone who is sad and comforting them with a lick, or wagging their tails vigorously when they are happy. Dogs have excellent senses and cognitive abilities, and can distinguish the slightest sounds of breathing, heartbeats, and tone of voice, and respond to human emotions.

Cute Japanese Cats Channel I couldn't agree more. But I do think I have an exception to that rule. My lovely mini Pom doesn't seem to "get" when things r not rt with me. I've had a stroke & a couple mini strokes & it was business as usual with my Goldie. Then I was walking in the rain & fell & broke 3 toes & cracked my knee & fractured my ankle on my other foot. Still wanted me to take her out ( even though I keep a potty pad inside) & needed to b petted & loved like everything is normal. Doesn't cuddle up to me or act any different when I'm in such pain. Like she's saying let's get on with this. I'm kinda stymied about it all. Maybe she's just not that smart??? Gotta love her to bits anyway. 🐈🐈🐈

One of my most favorite animal videos of all time! Especially when she was "talking to Pepe in "crow talk!" I had no idea that a crow would go with their dog friend for walks in the park, and give food to other crows he would eventually join and create his own "crow family." We have so much to learn to live in harmony with animals - this video brought joy to my heart and to my soul as my spirit takes wing!

This reminds me of a story. 20 plus years ago when I was a teenager. We had an above ground pool. I went out to vacuum the pool one day and there was a crow barely alive in the water. Took my skimmer and got him out. My sister grabbed her hair dryer and a bath towel. We dried out his feathers for a good hour and let him rest. Couple hours later he flew away. For the next 6 years we lived at the house and he would visit us. Left random trinkets around our pool. 20 years ago I still think about that crow
