Really nice to see this done with a dog who genuinely has no manners to start with. As soon as you slackened the lead at the start and he ran off I was like "oh yeah I can relate to that" 😂 Brilliant video.

All I can say is THANK YOU! This video is invaluable for rehomed older dogs. There are so many puppy videos but they are of little use for the older dog that have been rehomed. We exclusively take on older dogs from a rescue we love and I’m in need of some videos for behaviour issues that the older dogs sometimes come with. Again thank you for this!

Hi. I’m a new subscriber and don’t actually have my dog yet. Im visually impaired and will be starting training with my potential guide dog in the next couple of weeks. I’ve met him twice already. He’s a black Labrador and his name is Max. He’s really focused and brilliant when he’s on harness and piloting but, when indoors and off harness, he doesn’t like it if he isn’t the centre of attention. I’ve started listening to your videos to get some tips so that I can build up that relationship with him and be successful. If. You have any tips for new guide dog owners, I’d really appreciate it if you could share them with me. Keep up the great work.

If you walk on pavement enough, you won’t need to trim as much as an occasional file. I’ve got an anxious and fearful Staffi-mix and found the above to be a preferable alternative for the both of us.

@@andymytys Thanks for the help. The problem is in her earlier years, she broke a toe. Now she will not let us touch her feet. For the last few weeks when she is just “chillin” I will rub her feet and toes. Hopefully the next time I try to trim or file them, she will let me. Just one toe at a time. I hope.🤞

@@terryfleming7084 go slow. Even for filing, I filed for very short periods of time with treats and constant praise. I started with just contact with the file, moved up to filing one nail, and eventually got to the entire paw. He still gets bored and anxiety sets in. I’m happy of I can get to all four paws over a few days.

Hey I'm new here. My roommate has a 4 year old pit bull that is an absolute doll but he is too busy to train her, she only knows basics like her name and sit, maybe a couple minimum stuff. I want to start training her, any suggestions for treats to get her started?

They've recommended small bits of boiled chicken or cheese. You can also use good quality hot dog bits (all beef, to avoid digestive upset). Also Well-Bites are healthy. Something small + soft so it doesn't take long to chew + doesn't distract from training.
