Aww, the sadness of that 14 year old girl for her horse took me back to when my dog died. I would break out into tears even a year afterwards especially if I heard a sad song. Making me tear up now and it’s been almost 25 years. One best dogs I’ve ever had.

I'm so sorry you lost your horse! I too have Kabios that I have sadly lost too. I and my dad (a real, cowboy) raised working (arena and ranch) and racing, registered Quarter Horses for over, 20 years. We had thoroughbred lineage and Joe Hancock, Little Chicaro Bill base foundation bloodlines. We lost our Chicaro mare from old age and it broke my heart. Lost her half brother a couple of years later at 28 yrs old. He was my dads and my roping horse. I never got over their deaths and the bloodlines are gone now. You never get over the loss of friend and companion and will mourn them, even at 67 yrs old yourself. You always miss the smell of horse breath, that snicker hello or those little fuzzy headed babies knickers. But, there are horses in heaven! In a near death experience, I saw them. They look like Lipazons but people had horses all of different colors too, that they keep at their ranches. "That which is bound on earth, is also bound in heaven." I have 3 horses that are waiting for me. A couple cats and dogs! I believe they will meet me at the Golden Gates.

Such a great idea to have prisoners do animal rehab. In the US we have some prisons that allow prisoners to train emotional support dogs, but I'd like to see programs like that be spread throughout all the prisons. They handpick the prisoners - people who have non -violent personalities - and it would also help them learn empathy and patience. And it would help out society greatly.

What amazed me was when he mentioned putting chemo beads in the site of the cancer to prevent it's growing back. I was diagnosed with breast cancer about 7 years ago and had surgery and chemo and radiation therapy to hopefully get rid of that cancer. I am always keenly aware of the fact that the cancer could come back. So WHY don't they have these chemo beads for humans? I would love to have had a few inserted so I do not feel like I am living my life waiting for the other shoe to drop. I guess that's a question I need to ask my oncologist the next time I see him.

Appaloosas are 8.3 times more likely, than every other horse breed combined, to get equine recurrent uveitis (ERU). It can cause cataracts, eye cancer and blindness. Appaloosas are beautiful horses, and I am currently riding one for a friend of mine, but I don’t think I will ever want to get one of my own. With all of their health issues, it could cost a lot of money to take care of one, depending on it’s health. I’m sorry to hear about Skeeter, but it was good that he lived until 27, even after the tumor.

As a cancer survivor who had a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation therapy for breast cancer about five years ago I am wondering why I never heard of chemo beads as a possibility for humans with cancer. For the years since my treatment I THINK I have been cancer free but I feel like I am living under Damocles sword and if my doctor had inserted some of these beads I think I would have had a lot less stressful post-cancer life. My next trip to see my oncologist I will be asking him about this.

i wish we had programs like this for our inmates (amurica). it’s barbaric what goes in prisons. they need something like this. even art, automotive skills, music or carpentry would be something to care about - not effing laundry!! they don’t teach them anything they can use to earn a living outside, just throw them out to flounder. great system we have here in the 21st century. younger people interested in this should check out “The Birdman of Alcatraz” with Burt Lancaster. it can be done. :) 🕊🐦🦜🌷✨

Hope in humanity... Right, cuz their definitely gonna post those "Vet Abuses Puppy" videos for all to see on KZfaq. Hey, I wanna believe every veterinarian is always kind, gentle & caring all the time. I'm sorry, but it's just not a realistic expectation. After spending 6 1/2 years as a vet tech with rotate docs and a couple years at the after hours Emergency Clinic and I'd say somewhere around 70% are good 80% of the time. The other 30% should die slow & painful deaths. I guess when you really think about it, that's about on par with the rest of humanity. Best of luck in finding only great vets.

This is very high on my list of favorite “episodes”. All of the vets seem to just love their jobs! I live in the States and I just don’t see the compassion, or joy for what they’re doing, in their eyes. I still think about him often, and look at the many photos taken of him and I over the years, at shows and just having fun. I now own 3 mini horses, and they do help with dealing with his loss. And he did sire 137 foals over his lifetime, and his youngest was foaled in 2007, 2 months before his death. I'm friends with her owner, and still see her frequently. She's almost as tall as her dad---17.3 hands. (Jan Griffiths).

Maybe find a new bunny at shelter some need so much a new home

U can't stop a horse from getting a tumor but that they R taking such good care of her at Safe Haven Horse Rescue is the important thing. After watching that ABC about ex-racehorses ( some who made etheir owners a lot of money) turned into dog meat is UNACCEPTABLE.....This horse might be ill but she knows she is being loved and cared for. That's all a horse could wish for.

The little girl is so gentle with her pet dog which may be because she has had a pet at a very early age. I believe having a pet early on in life instills many good traits, such as empathy, loving, caring, responsibility, among others.

I felt so bad for the 14 year old girl who loves Charlie. I'm crying now just watching them cry. I also think it's awesome that prisons have programs that help animals. I live in Utah, in the United States. The only programs that I saw in the USA is for dogs and cats. How amazing it must be to be able to change the life of people and animals.

We got our daughter a black Pug puppy January 2019. While I was outside my husband accidently stepped on him. He didn't make it to the vet. He died in my daughter's arms. I still get mad as hell when I think about it. Puppy was underfoot. All hubby had to was stop walking.

@@marsupialsofmars3886 I haven't brought it up once. I know he feels horrible. Then we got a new Pug puppy that unfortunately died of Parvo. Then a woman that I had worked with had a two year old Pug that she needed to rehome because she was dying of cancer. Ginger will be five in October. She is quite a character.

I love the idea of that correctionals program. The animals need help and care, and for the imates they are perfect because they are not judgemental to whatever is in their past. It gives them something very positive to do and learn for when it's time to leave and to feel good about whilst they do it, getting some fresh air and doing something to take their mind off of things, the animals gets the vital attention they need and a second chance at life, and it's just a great kind of therapy all around. I cannot see any downsides to the program. Good in you Australia for giving everyone a second chance here!! ❤️
