Restoring the Original Nintendo Game Boy Color - Retro Console Restoration & Repair - ASMR
After a while of searching, I was able to find a bad enough Game Boy for my restoration videos only for $1.
The console was sold as junk and for spares
Starting work Disassembling the device, disassembling the screen was not as easy as it was required, but it was somewhat difficult for fear that the screen would be broken
The Game Boy Color (commonly abbreviated as GBC) is a handheld game console, manufactured by Nintendo, which was released in Japan on October 21, 1998[5] and to international markets that November. It is the successor to the Game Boy and is part of the Game Boy family

It's magical that the interiors are both filled with wet and dirtiness but after cleaning no sign of corrosion and all the joints are perfect and soldering looks limpid as new. Good for you if this is legit.

This is unbelievable, buried in mud should already make the board unserviceable. Yet it still works by adding new batteries.

Disappointed. I am sure that at a minimum some of the capacitors would need to me changed, the battery contacts would need to be replaced, not to mention the screen would not be serviceable. And what happened to the corroded RF shield you removed at the beginning? I feel this was not a restoration, but a swapping of the case from an already functional Game Boy color, to the new white and pink case.

Very hamhanded approach to the small electronics of this Game Boy. I agree with the other comments calling this one disappointing and this is the first one on this channel I’m actually doubtful of the original state.

I think people watch this for the ASMR, not for the restoration. I watch it for the restoration, which is basically magic, but I think I'm in the minority here.

Yes because this is staged. What did he even restore? He replaced the shell and the screen. The board itself was intentionally soiled.

At first I was like "No, you don't just put batteries in this wet, muddy device. It's gonna short circuit!" When the cha-ding came I was laughing out loud. How the heck? Now I believe the story of the fisherman recovering a phone out of a fish and calling the owner with it. On my own behalf: Do you still have a Game Boy Color and maybe a Samsung phone ear bud or another one with multimedia buttons? I was looking at a used GBC today and heard a clicking/popping noise every 250 to 300 ms through the headphones only. Now I'm not sure if this is expected with these types of ear buds or the headphone output was faulty.

How can you restore the motherboard off it but not restore those rubber pads,buttons and it’s original transparrant case, For instance tou could,ve use a self made mold from clay to fill in those broken parts of the GBC case,that would,ve be waaay more interesting despites this restored one still looks good,albeit somewhat disappointed.

This video is sus. How are dirt, mud and leaves able to get in a console like that? You can probably argue that bugs gotten in it but there are no corpses in there.
