Man, the sound of that engine brings me back! The day I met Rory he took me to the Golden Crack via Rusty Nail and Gemini Bridges... FULL THROTTLE! I had Snapped an axel shaft the day prior and had to leave my rig over night...To this day I have never forgotten that ride! It was so BADASS! Trailmator made easy work of Rusty Nail and I gained a lot respect for this man and his craft. What an incredible service Moab Motorsports provides for the off-road community in Moab and the surrounding area!

That chasing shadow scene just after 4 minutes where you're running east on a dune ridge for a few seconds, chasing your own shadow was incredible. That's one of those little happy mistakes that us photographers stumble into every now and then. What a great shot!

WOW. You hit the ridge on that dune and I almost lost my dinner. When you headed back to the trailer I was sitting here dozing off. How well I remember the sounds of those old gas V8's. It's like music to an old mechanics ears.That was the era when it was awesome to be a mechanic and the cars were a dream to work on in comparison to the nightmares they build today. We had an old '62 GMC 6000 cab-over with a 401 CI V6 engine for a wrecker. Every once in a while the exhaust would fall off and I swear it sounded just like the motor in the Trail Mater. A symphony. LOL Thanks for the awesome video Rory. Keep 'em coming. Keep doing what you do best. Take care and for God's sake, stay safe out there.

I could see you all collaborating at other events like EJS, Rubicon, etc. Events all around the country. East, West all over. I don't know if it's possible or if the logistics work out, or if it can fit around having to earn a living. But I imagine it would be a KZfaq success for all of you. It's been a couple of years since I've been to Moab but I know next time I'll be watching close for a glimpse of TRLM8R.

Another great video Rory! I just redid the steering on my dually, and this CAD break is my worst fear. I don't wheel the truck but do take it on forest roads and mild trails to get to campsites. I thought about a D60 kingpin swap but decided to keep the stock axle and sink WAY too much money into the steering. If it ever breaks I'm probably going to cry for a few minutes and then attempt to reuse all the spendy parts and build a kingpin that I will hopefully never break in that truck. I hope that day never comes, knock on wood.

Awesome recovery! Does make me worry a little about my brand new Gladiator though. I'm also over here newly from Matt and Paul's channels.
@ringkong2 жыл бұрын
the thing to remember for longevity of your rig.... treat your foot pedal likes it's made of glass and the lower the gears you have the better. this gladiator problem is of a different nature, Jeep put the disconnect back in for fuel economy... they got rid of it for the Jk, brought it back for the JL and JT, so the company as a whole can meet the federal mandates of fuel economy.
@DB-yj3qc2 жыл бұрын

It's interesting seeing you use a chain bridle to sling the truck. Driving a newer integrated wrecker I can't effectively sling with it so I use a similar technique but with J hooks that are separate, and individually connected to the wheel lift, called a hard bar. I was expecting to see a typical rubber sling for something like this. Interesting touch with the soft straps for the safety cross as well. Looks like I've got some more tricks up my sleeve if need be.

Rory, maybe design an external clamp to hold the 2 broken halves in alignment so the steering and brakes are somewhat functional during rescue.??? You could do this during all that free time you seem to have, lol😂😂😳😳. Keep up the great videos and all the entertainment you provide, thank you
