I found a Skid Steer forgotten in a old junk yard and decided to take a chance and rescue it!
Let's see what it takes to get it out of there!
It's a mid 1990's Gehl 4625SX Wheeled Skid Steer with a Kubota diesel engine! Apparently it was only running on 2 cylinders or something and so it was parked and forgotten! I'm betting I can get it up and running again and put it back to work, but first we have to get it outta there!
What better way than to drag it out of it's grave with a bigger tracked skid loader!
We'll get it back to the shop before I mess with working on it. I'm really excited to have it and can't wait to fix it
Please enjoy! I know I did!
~
If you have any suggestions, questions, or comments, please leave them below!
Thanks for stopping by, I truly appreciate your support!

My thoughts as well Mark. But what we have learned from many other rescue/restoration people so much that has been relegated to the trash heap is better than currently made tools and just needs a little TLC and maintenance.

I'm honestly amazed at the lengths he had to go to to drag that thing out of there. There were at least three points where i was thinking "he should be out of there around this corner". But nope, it just showed it was deeper and deeper inside that mess. Side bonus for the old owner, on top of getting rid of an old machine, he got some brush cutting done as a bonus.

Wonder where in the country this is? Everyone on the West Coast has decided that anything and everything is either an Antique, Vintage or some such thing and demands a price that is absolutely ridiculous. Thanks very much for sharing. I never understood why people post videos when their audio is so bad.

Nice work finding the Gehl mate! I’m guessing the hydraulic release on the tracks will be something like my sdk8, two screws to undo on the primary drive pump to bypass the motors

Get yourself a snatch block to double up your pulling power for your winch, will make things a lot easier for you in the future with pulls like that

Can't say how relieved I am to see a new post - I was getting a little worried! Getting that skid steer on your flat bed was a seriously long haul - every pun intended! 😂 Looks like you're seeing a bit of spring come in already? Nice! Great to see you back at it!

We had the same model on our old dairy farm. Rebuilt the engine around 3000 hrs and was still going strong at 7200hrs. Was a good machine for its age and size

There is a small fortune in scrap steel on the property just rusting away. It should more than cover the removal cost of all that.

Wow, what a treasure trove! I've been looking for a place like that for years. You can build your own shop out of what's there. What state are you in? Thanks for your video!
