I worked for a farmer who collected old machines. By the time he retired he had over 3000 tractors, dozers, etc. He also sold as many over the years. We bought many machine seized like this one. His process was: 1. See if the engine will easily turn. 2. If not, pull injectors/plugs and fill cylinders with atf/diesel mix and let it sit for a month or longer. He'd also spray the mix over all linkages, the track, and grease all grease fittings. 3. Every week or so make sure cylinders were still full and spray the track with the mixture. 4. After 1 to 3 months, try turning the motor. 5. We almost always got the engines freed up. 6. He'd then spin the engine over, refilling the cylinders over and over to wash out the rust. 7. Finally he"d drain & clean the fuel tank, add fresh fuel and change the oil. 8. Try to get it started, topically by pull starting it using a fairly high gear and speed. 9. Rebuild carb/injection pump/mag as required to get it running right. 9. We almost always got the engines running this way (and some had sat for 90+years). Some turned out to be oil burners but even if they were that want a big problem because most would only be used for exhibitions or sold to museums/collectors.

My heart sank when I heard "HD". About 50 years ago we had a 10ish year old AC HD21 on site. AC said it was equal to a D8. every one said it was because it weighed like a D9 and pushed like a D7. In 3rd high range that old 21 would would go so fast the tracks didn't touch the top rollers. It was OK for pushing Cat 619's though, just not very fast.

After Sam had dragged it out and got it past the slope, I was waiting for Matt to ask if he should try to put it in neutral… 😂😂😂

I really enjoy your videos. They remind me of my teenage years back in the 70's working for my dad. He would go out and buy stuff like this and we would get them running and put them to work.
