For sure! I think Xenon 2 was fairly close, but this is a million times faster.

But back in the day the developers had to build games for the standard systems out at the time. Luckily in this day and age we have multiple choices for upgrading our Amigas. Look at the porting going on now. Turrican 2 AGA (Free download) a port off the PC DOS version which makes the most of FastRAM. Recently we now have Star Wars Dark Forces now playable on the Amiga! 👍🏻

Thanks for a wonderful review. I hope Richard has a great rest after this one. We had a lot help designing with the game and while Richard, Martin and Myself are the main team members, lots of other help that made the game what it is, extra artwork, sfx, testing, etc. In regards to the cost of the game, I think it's fair, Websites, storage for high scores, low volume game boxes are super expensive.

Glad you enjoyed it! You did a fantastic job on the artwork and it has been fun watching you guys slowly put this together over the years. Lots of people don't realize the investment of time and money into projects like this

This has to be the most beautiful game since Labyrinth of Time. The cloud transparency is amazing.

I am amazed with the transparency effects too... and the fact that they are all animated with dozens of onscreen enemies and hundreds of flying bullets at 60 FPS! It really demonstrates how amazing the AMIGA was at the time

WOW that looks amazing, looks more like a console game. imagine this back in the 80's, this would make a fortune.

Absolutely. So many games needed to be rushed out in six months or a year so they did not get the polish of something like this. Four years to make this one!

I talked to Germanys most famous Amiga developers of the 80s and 90s in the past years. The sad truth is: Even the best Amiga games did not make them a fortune due to piracy. In fact I was surprised by some very low sales numbers, even for the most iconic games.

I have a soft spot for good ol' Battle Squadron (wish I still had my boxed copy) but this looks absolutely amazing and may just about fill the Battle Squadron sized hole in my heart.

You know what would be the icing on the cake spirte scaling and rotation, an amazing game. I love the play mechanics and graphics are arcade quality.

There is a lot of Sprite rotation, like the spinning enemies. But yes, scaling would have been neat, especially with the pseudo 3D effects of some of the backgrounds. Maybe in ReShoot 4!

@@10MARCWe did Axelay kind of scaling on the sun background visuals, in a way. I do love sprite scaling too. But this uses up a insane amount of memory and/or cpu on Amiga. That just did not fit the concept this time. Maybe in some future game, yes!

In the biggest version available, there is a USB drive that has a ton of tracks including some music that did not make it into the game. Totally worth it!

Those games are too difficult and frustrating for me and I get 0 fun out of them, but sure I love watching other people playing them. It is really pretty and cool.

I tend to agree, hence my comment about things like Defender not being particularly fun. But this game honestly makes you feel fairly powerful and while it is difficult it is not unfair like many in this genre.

Wow. Graphically it looks incredible ! On top of that it feels very arcady just like it should. Is there a demo ver anywhere ?

The game is great but waaaay too expensive for a digital download.. It's only 8mb and would cost me $48 AU. The physical copies are even more then factor in postage. . Just can't justify spending that.

I get what you are saying, but this game is only $30 American for an AAA title. I spend more than that in a week on Energy drinks. The crew has four years invested in it, and if they cannot get any return on their investment, including gorgeous boxes for the full version, then whats the point? Its not going to sell tens of thousands like a steam game might, but maybe hundreds. Everything costs money. I for one thing it is a great deal.

@@10MARCwell said! People do not seem to understand how much time and effort developers put into a project like this. They used 4 years on this and at one stage people were certain it was canceled. I think its a shame some poeple always have to complaint about the price. Put some money aside every week or month if you are short on cash. Worth every penny if you ask me. 😊😊

Well its always relative. Drink a few beers at the bar and end up paying much more than that never thinkin can you justify it.

@@roartjrhom4932 I'm not the only one that thinks the price is too high. This is a hot topic in the forums.. Spend 4 years on a game then release it at a price out of reason for what people want to pay.. Seems silly to me.
