There's something about gas stations that put me at ease. They are like the save rooms of the road. A place where you can stop, rest a bit, refuel, grab a snack and drink, before heading out again.

@@ChestersonJack I don't think that's what a liminal space is
@ChestersonJack3 ай бұрын
@@JacobDTulio Liminal - 1. occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold. 2. relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process. A save point is very much a type a threshold, a point you much reach in order to save. A place where stop briefly before carrying on is transitional, a place not meant to be stayed at.

This reminds me of something I remember about 8 years ago. I was working night shift in a warehouse. Well, one night, around 4:30am, it was raining, I stopped at a gas station to fill up the truck I was driving back then and I also decided to grab some snacks as well. Plus, I had a couple of friends who were working there, too. We'd chat as I do whatever I do. Just friendly conversations. Well, as I went back to the truck and started pumping the gas, I started hearing these weird ass noises sort of echoing all around the area. Creaking sounds and strange moaning. Then what scared me the most, and I'll never forget it. A very deep howling sound that sounded like it was about a mile away. Even though, they don't exist but I swear to this day, it sounded like the howl of a werewolf. But it couldn't have been. So when I was done pumping the gas, I put the pump back up, closed the tank, I hopped into the truck and hauled ass outta there. When I was about maybe 3 miles away, I called my buddies from the gas station and told them to be careful if they have to go outside for any reason because the noises I heard. About an hour later, I was at home in my room watching a couple of youtube videos and eating the snacks I bought, trying to forget about what I experienced. Then my phone rang and it was my friend from the gas station. He said they did go outside to check and see if they could hear anything based on what I mentioned, but they didn't hear anything. Just the calming splashing sounds of the rain. So I was thinking it was probably something only in my head. Because tiredness and exhaustion can cause confusion in the mind and make you hear and see things. So that's very likely what it was, my mind playing tricks on me. I've been back to the gas station many times since then and I never heard those eerie sounds again.

@@desindingtv I use to work at a gas station like on the ridge near Bakersfield. If you follow the historic route 66 between California and Texas, you will find a lot of desolate, abandoned restaurants and gas stations out in the desert. It looks like the Fallout game out there.

@@newguy90 perfect setting for a zombie apocalypse survival movie. For some reason Stone Temple Pilots, the band, and a desert road. Just fit together so perfectly. Just listen to Dead and Bloated, then imagine being a survivor driving through the Nevada desert on a lone road with your ipod classic plugged into the radio, listening to that song. Nostalgic.
