The game is such a fun game to replay. I couldn't go back to RE2Remake after my first replay, but I ended up doing speedruns of RE3 just because I enjoyed the gameplay loop so much. Also, on a bit of a personal note, it really helped distract me during the period after my father died. It'll always have a place in my heart just because of that.

I have beaten/speedrun this game 13 times on xbox and around 23 times on PC the replay value of this game is immeasurable

This is how i feel about RE3R. Good game, bad remake. That being said, it’s always great seeing new people come into the community. RE3 Remake while being a good and fun game, doesn’t live upto the original imo. There is so much cut content, so i highly recommend playing the original RE3. Would have been cool if they played more into Jill’s PTSD instead of only two scenes. Shame they cut 60% of the original game, especially the choice system and multiple endings

I do wish they would have allowed Jill to go to the RPD to get her lock pick before it is completely overrun by zombies, a nightmare sequence in the clock tower and Carlos going through the park to get to Jill.

I need a RE3 Directors Cut. I know it will never happen, and this game IS almost 4 years old at this point. I just wish we had more Jill stuff. A few extras missions, 15 more minutes of cutscenes, couple new weapons, outfits, and some stuff from the original carried over. I love RE3 Remake, i 100 percented it on Xbox. I like what we got, i just wish we had more.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the new Jill. First her outfit is just a straight rip-off of Reboot Lara Croft, and she comes off as "Girl Boss Feminist." (Also, it's strange CAPCOM are sticking with this model as now Jill looked out of place in "Death Island" compared to everyone else, but I digress.) Look how they massacred the Mascot Neme! He can't even swim! The most love I can give the game is I'll never forget the sun rising behind my tv as the final cutscene played. It felt like I was experiencing an RE ending irl.

The reason for RE7 being first person was because capcom wanted re7 revive the survival horror and also participated in playstation's VR project. The tanktop design was a modern design as the original design was criticised for being unrealistic and players in 1998 thought it was inappropriate

RE3 was the FIRST resident evil I bought back when it released in the late 1900s (lol) it was my first introduction to survival horror and Jill being my first crush. With it's remake releasing a couple years ago it had me SO pumped for this epic RE entry to get the proper expansion it deserved. Man was I bummed that it fell short of everyone's expectations. Nicole Tompkins definitely filled Catherine Disher's shoes in voicing Jill, but man I just wish they did my first love justice... Especially that re4 has gotten it's expansion game.

When it comes to controls, the over the shoulder gameplay sure it's pretty good. People just wouldn't realize how soulless this remake is if they didn't play the original. The graphics are great and yet the design is so empty and generic. In the original, so much is done to make sure you are immersed in raccoon city. Even the wreckage that make sure you stay in the play area gives it so much personality, bodies lying around with diaries that give context to what happened in the street/room really make you feel like you are trying to escape a dying city. Just in the uptown and downtown area alone, there's so much to do, a lot of backtracking and discovering areas you didn't realize was there. This remake just gives you a bunch of zombies to shoot at mostly empty/unremarkable streets/hallways and calls it a day. Oh yeah, you get to go back around to some areas to open locked doors/lockers for healing items and ammo. I guess that's the same?? Sigh. This game was so rushed that it managed to make what was the franchise's most iconic tyrant into one of its most forgettable ones. It's sad this game wasn't given as much care as either a Leon or Chris-led game would have. What a failure it has become.

In regards to whether you're a "real" fan or not: I've beaten almost every main-line RE game except for: The OG 1996 RE, RE0, RE7, and RE8. Out of those listed, the only game I've never bothered booting up at all is the OG 1996 RE, but that's because I've beaten the remake too many times to count. With that said, I think it's normal to be a fan of a certain era or arc of the story of a long-running franchise such as this RE. For instance, my favorite arc is RE1-RE3 as there's something incredibly believable about corporate negligence leading to a massive disaster only for them to try and cover their tracks. IMO, it's that one believable element that makes this story so iconic - since the disaster is something we've seen time and time again. While that's my favorite arc of the series, my favorite game is the RE4 Remake as it is the perfect blend of action and horror the series has sought out for so years now. However, I don't really care for 0, 7, or 8 for various reasons, but I don't think that takes away from my fan status. Nor do I think it takes away from your status as a fan because you dislike certain entries of the franchise yourself. With this being the cash cow it is and going through multiple eras, it's easy to forget that they've released just as many misses as they have hits.

The problem with remakes is the same as movies based on books. The opinions you're gonna hear first and most are those of people who are fans of the original or source material, and they're just completely incapable of judging a remake or adaptation based on its own merits.

The thing is this: if this game wasn't supposed to be a remake of a landmark horror game, it wouldn't have been chewed out and hated as it is. The game is fun, the replayability is incredible and I actually prefer the modern Nemesis design; but because it's meant to be a remake, it dropped the ball on so many things you can't come out feeling cheated out; especially when the game is meant to update and modernize one of gaming's most feared and unpredictable monsters and it turns it into a scripted generic enemy. I can relate to loving the game that hooks you into RE; I myself was introduced with the original RE4 and it still is my favorite RE game despite it's goofiness and I can see how a newcomer can love a game like RE3R. Objectively, it wasn't worth the price it was released with, the recent Separate Ways DLC was cheaper and almost at the same length.

I just stared this one. Played re2 and re4 remake so this felt fresh coming from re4 remake, reallt great game so far

I have all the resident evil games including my original copy of RE2 OG I got for Christmas in 98’ and I also LOVE re 3 remake. I think that nemesis running around the map would’ve been a little more true to the OG but honestly I like the challenges this game presents as well. And I like that they made you fight him repeatedly instead of having the choice option to run away like the OG. I think it was done well. The thing is this game is 1 hour 45 minutes and that’s getting all the pouches and everything. It’s still great. I liked the re2 remake for being a sub 2 hour game as well. The originals feel like a slog sometimes, like re4, re5 and re6 they just get long winded. 2 and 3 remakes are a relief in my opinion when you are playing through the franchise.

I’m happy that you enjoyed the game more than most of us myself included. I’m in support of others liking or appreciating a product more. RE:SIASTENCE… it’s tricky I rather they had cut this and used the extra data to not cut any content from the physical copies and release it as DLC or patch code. To me the demo got me hyped for a big retail cash grab and disappointing experience. The Nemesis is a former shallow shell of its former self to the point where you have to do that stupid dog form 2 times. Few good and the bad for me are as followed: Good: The game does look beautiful, and the design of Nemesis face is not to big of an issue to me. I like Carlos’ new redesign along with some parts of the city. More minutes with Brad Vickers leading to new a new scene with Martin been featured and how he was turned as well as new connection & call back and a nod to Brad been at the RCPD Station in RE2 Secret. The dodge mechanic was sweet Bad: Full retail price, Jill either way to Gong hoe or not enough with dialogue for me. The difficulty mechanic is ridiculously designed. Lack of the branching choice making mechanic leading to multiple mutations of Nemesis. Those were a few points. I had more jump scares with the PS1/GameCube Ports. RE:Nemesis was supposed to be an extension for RE2 or spinoff? While Code Veronica was initially to be RE3 which by this point it should be. Capcom decided since next-gen consoles were around the corner to make RE: Nemesis the Mainline to end this trilogy on the classic PS1 make RE: Code Veronica a follow up to present the power of Saga Dreamcast and later PS2 and GameCube. Which in summary I’m fine overall how they thought about this, as for the remake but not worth the price the retail price. Capcom I’m noticing they are not putting as much innovation or heart in certain projects, and starting to practice questionable methods, as well as recycle dated animation for their CG Movies. RE7 was a horrifying breath of fresh air, but to scary for many people, to the point the dialed it down in REVillage which I personally miss that level of horror honestly. I yet to finish. But yea, those are comments for another time.

This game got hate because it was soooo different to the original, and a lot of content was missing. Also a lot of people was saying this should have just been RE2 DLC. BUT, if you just take this game at face value as a standalone game, and try to forget this is "remake" of OG RE3, it's actually an awesome game! The music in the game is great, the graphics are beautiful, yeah nemesis doesn't really stalk you like Mr X which is what I think a lot of people were hoping for, the Nemesis interactions are more set pieces similar to the original where it gave you an option of what to do. The game is a bit on the short side, but I personally like the length of the game and I was able to do multiple runs to unlock everything without it becoming too much of a chore. I had a lot of fun with this game, this game kept me entertained all the way through Lockdown #1. Good times!

You know what? It was short but it slapped!

I have a few positive things to say about this. For one thing it's gorgeous visually. If we're talking about the story alone? It's pretty decent. Not amazing because some things make little to no sense; it's well acted though and if it were a movie it has good pacing. I do like that the hospital section was expanded somewhat and the hunter introduction cutscene. It being a callback to RE1 was pretty cool. As a game though, that's a much different story. There's loads of content has been cut, including several enemies and some entire areas of the game. The parts that weren't were extremely watered down were turned into linear chase sequences and boss encounters. Every area, the hospital being the only exception, is tiny and feels like the bare minimum effort was done. There's almost no puzzles with the only couple that do exist are ridiculously easy. That watering down of content applies to Nemesis himself as well. The brilliantly designed, programmed, and formidable monster is no more. What's in his place is a joke. The only freeform gameplay is only a few minutes and he's easily defeatable in every possible encounter. After you finish the streets, the rest of the game is nothing but linear chase sequences and boss fights. Only one of which is against the Nemesis form everyone's familiar with. From here on he becomes unrecognizable and the encounters are frustratingly terrible. I guess I set myself up for failure as the original game is one of my favorites in the franchise and i had high expectations for the remake.

Since your a big fan of this one I suggest checking out the o.g. I know your tired of hearing it but if at least it gives you more jill and a bit more nemises and it tends to be called the most "action" of the original trilogy plus your points tend to aline with me but with the original funny enough. Plus I'm curious what a new player who's a big fan of re3make think of the original especially if they haven't played it

1:30 Honestly this not a "nitpick". It's how some blinds/shades are. It happens to me every time I visit my sis house. Basically, the blinds make it seem daylight outside(if you look a certain way) but if you open them completely, it could be night outside. Really its true😅

I don't think the remake is better than the original game and I feel it is definitely lacking but I also feel it gets massively over hated as well. I think it really suffers from seeming to have been made to be an add on to 2 Remake and the fact they were doing that multiplayer game on the side. If they put all their effort into this itself it could have added a lot to the game I feel.

I owned but was too much of a wimpy kid to get far in the original, so i don't have the same feeling of betrayal from the clocktower being cut as fans of the original seem to have. I really liked the RE3 remake, however the zombie physics were objectively disappointing going straight into it from RE2. There is no argument that RE2 remake is a better game as a whole, but I find RE3 easier to replay back to back and Jills movement feels better with the dodge and knife (intentionally so due to her being an elite stars member, while Leon is a rookie at the time and Claire is a civilian)

Dude, I'm really glad to have come across this video. So true. The criticism this game received was overblown. A lot of it of course is because it came off the heels of the RE2 remake which was highly anticipated, but frankly, once the honeymoon period is over, a lot of the glamour of that game wears off. While RE2 remake is a fine game in its own right, a good remake that respects the original and improves upon it? Sorry, no, it's not. And frankly, it deserves more criticism. But, I digress. I also love the RE3 remake. It's not without flaws. That said, where this game does lack in content, it makes up for with a great retelling of the RE3 story with great characterizations of Jill and Carlos, and their chemistry which is off the charts and such a joy to experience. Frankly, it makes me more bitter with the 2make for not doing anything to improve Leon and Claire's relationship and in fact, there's very little of that in that regard. Also, while Nemesis could've been better utilized, the way he works is actually due to fan complaints about Mr. X in the 2make. A lot of players complained how he was a hinderance and was difficult to shake off or stop to the point of annoyance. So, Capcom succeeded, but succeeded way too much at making Nemesis a little more manageable. Still, what he lacks in pursuing like X, he makes up for with amazing and fun boss battles. Not to mention the improved enemy variety and soundtrack. Anyway, great video. You earned a subscriber.

No. Just no. I lost all faith in Capcom after buying this game at full price back in the day, expecting to relive the same survival horror excitement as I did in the original RE3. Not only did they turn this game into a non-game where you're doing easy quick time events, to ruining the best enemy of the whole franchise: Nemesis. The game is nothing more than a glorified scinematic that lost 70% of the original game's content in favor of trying to be an action movie instead of a horror game. I probably wouldn't be so salty if I hadn't lost 70 bucks to this garbage. It's maybe worth a 10 dollar price tag. That I would be content with.

It's funny how your favorite Nemesis fight is one that many players, even other fans of this game, consider the worst/most annoying fight. Not saying you're wrong, or anyone else is, just funny to see the drastic difference in preferences from critics and fans alike.

It simply needs more content, and Mercenary Mode. More costumes would be a nice touch also, since there aren't many as it is. It's quite short too and doesn't seem to respect the original game.

The *long* list of gripes aside, I did enjoy the gameplay/gunplay of RE3Make over RE2Make. Though it's also a con in how little we got to enjoy it in such a short game. Still, "The Shop" made this game at least a satisfying one to replay. RE2Make seemed to put more focus on speedrunning a new playthrough in order to unlock stuff whereas at least RE3Make allowed for completing different kinds of objectives to earn unlocks. I didn't care for how they just gave you a standard Glock (disregarding the lore of Raccoon City in doing so, too) and knew I wanted Jill's Samurai Edge, so coupled with her S.T.A.R.S. gear and others, that second playthrough was worth more to me than the gutted "B Scenario" of RE2Make.

Besides being too short, the thing that bothers me most about this game is how dumbed down they made it compared to RE2R. The puzzles, the inventory management, the herb combos, the lockpicks that act like universal keys, the removal of defensive weapons, the endless knife, the "get out of combat free" dodge button. It all just adds up. The only things I would put on the plus column is that the street scenes are gorgeous and Jill is a hottie badass!

as much as i'll say this game was an example of greed and negligence, i still value it as im so happy to see new players come in and experience a legacy character like Jill, who for the longest time has not had the love she's deserved. Creating more Jill fans should hopefully incentivise capcom to put her in new games in the future (not just the RE5 remake whenever that happens) but hopefully re9 and beyond. Leon by far is best in class in terms of his character arc and writing along side probably ada, but the other characters deserve this too so im glad you joined us on experiencing this wonderful franchise, nice video dude.

Stopped watching at the "It is the game that got me into the franchise."

Say what you want, but RE3R is tied with 4R for my favorite REmake. RE3R sparked a love for speedrunning in me. It was also the first Resident Evil game I ever beat. I went back and got all the achievements for it on steam (man was that satisfying) and plan on going back eventually and trying some things to get faster completion times.

I heard this will be free on ps plus in january.

i dont think its a very faithful remake and i dont like the changes to nemesis, but it was actually really fun and i found myself replaying it a lot because of how short it is, and of course for jill

It's definitely a good game, but a poor remake. Fans give this game such a hard time because it either needlessly removed major parts of the original 1999 game or just didn't implement them nearly as well. As fun as the remake is, it sadly doesn't come close to the original, which is disappointing because that really shouldn't have been the case.

Ofcourse nemesis4 is a bossfight 😅 not only that, it is the hardest, most annoying bossfight ever made in a videogame. Completeing him on the higher difficulties (Nightmare and inferno)without coins (wich are basicly cheats) is EXTREAMLY hard. I will however agree that its not a good bossfight. It just feels annoying and unfair

Good for you man but i've became a fan of RE because my introduction was the OG RE3 from ps1 and let me tell you. I was so hyped to finally revisit this game in modern graphics and when i finally finished this game i was disappointed. They could improved upon the OG in so many ways. This feels like a DLC more than a full game.

you don´t have to play the original to think this game is bad. it´s just really bad. a straight downgrade from re2 remale wich it took a lot of assets from, no replayability, too short (it took me 3 hrs my first time and i was taking my sweet time with it. boring stalker boss, hell it isn´t even a stalker except for 2 minutes of the game. no extra cosmetics or worth to unlock unlockables. straight up trash game through and through

I'm personally into the classics especially re4... The seriousness of re4 remake is what makes the few one liners that was kept from the original not as good... Saddler in the original was portrayed as like a snake oil salesmen who used religion as an excuse to say he was the leader of his cult and for that to turn into the remakes version of him thinking he's a God like being ruins it for me. Also krauser working for saddler instead of an undercover agent for wesker... Idk again i think the original was better... But it's just my opinion 😅 so take it with a grain salt

Personally I prefer RE3 Remake to the original RE3. I first played Code Veronica (I was first a Silent Hill fan before I got into the Resident Evil series) and I totally fell in love with that game, then I played RE2 because Claire was also in that and voiced by the same actress and again fell in love with that game. But somehow RE3 although still fun, at the time it felt like dlc and to me not quite like a full entry. And it didn’t feel to me like it had the heart and soul of CV and RE2 but the RE3 Remake completely corrected that for me! After being obsessed with RE2 Remake for a couple of years, it took me a while to get to RE3 Remake. I heard all this negativity surrounding it so I hesitated to get it. Finally I got it on Xbox on sale digitally and decided to make up my own mind about it and I couldn’t stop scratching my head wondering why on earth does this get so much hate?! It’s just as awesome and special as RE2 Remake and it made me appreciate the original RE3 more… And it wasn’t as short as everyone was saying either. It feels just as substantial to me as RE2 Remake and these games are the most replayable games to me personally for whatever reason. It’s so addictive to try to speedrun them, I’m a totally average gamer and I’m usually much slower at beating games than pretty much everyone else I know. I hesitate so much and I love to just look at every detail in the environments. But for the first time in my life I became obsessed with watching and learning from these genius speedrunners and it felt magical to learn that even I am capable of learning and doing that stuff. The original games are very special and they have a mood, golden era of Capcom. But we are witnessing another golden era of Capcom right now 🙏 and these remakes are more replayable to me than the originals. I played CV and RE2 for the story and atmosphere and music and my love for the characters. The gameplay was cool in many ways, the conservation of ammo and the herbs 🌿 and everything, the puzzles. But now Capcom has perfected the third person gameplay, it’s so finer tuned that it’s crazy fun to replay these remakes. Sorry for the crazy long comment. But I agree with you, RE3 Remake rocks! I love all of these recent remakes, RE4 Remake also… Hope they do Code Veronica next, it deserves a bigger audience and the soundtrack is one of if not the best to me of all the original games 🙏. People complain about cut content but really these remakes are so expanded upon in other areas and often hit harder on an emotional level because a lot of the story is delivered better. I do still absolutely love the original Claire Redfield voice actress, but the new one is actually an equal to me 🙏

Hi I just discovered your channel and like you I love this game, much more than 2 remake (the OG RE2 is much better IMO, I just can't seem to get past the fact that you fight the exact same Birkin boss in the exact same lab twice and then watching Annette die twice, and this game too has plenty cut from the original and is very short if you know what you're doing). I have been a big RE fan since the summer of 96 when I got the PS1 original and Jill has been my favourite character ever since. Subbed for showing this game some love.

I think the reason re3 remake is so disliked is because the og's expected a faithful remake but it isnt, it doesn't remake those moments and areas they loved so much in the original and so they dislike it because its not a good remake,but when someone who never experienced the original plays the remake they will fall in love with it because they don't have expectations of it being like it was back then Being in the latter group, i love re3 remake

Starting with RE1 (which is actually so very good remade, that you can skip the original from ´96 this, but only this, time) And than follow with RE2 Original, RE3 Original, RE4 Original, RE5 never happened =) or play with a friend if you have one And after you can appreciate really what the remakes did good or very poorly...

Having played the original, i say RE3R was not a faithful remake. So many reuse assets from RE2R. Capcom wanted fan participation to RE resistance after big success from re2r but they clearly don't know what fans want in an online RE experience. Re3r was a poor project from capcom.

See let me explain something about Resident Evil it has never had really a bad game as they are always fun its just they either with 5 & 6 deviate too much from survival horror making most fans hate it. Resident evil 3 remake & 2 remake both have problems with the game they remake 2 has more minor ones because despite the flaws in the story they adapted they succeeded at the parts which detracted from the original & thus is widely loved whilst 3 deviated from the things that made Nemesis great & thus is widely disliked. Even games like CV have fun but they just have two road blocks Tyrant on a plane fight & Steve monster with the stupid save being not a typewriter but an autosave back to the start of that area meaning you die & have to collect your stuff again & then complete the annoying crushing block puzzle but overall is a good game for the most part. The resident evil 0 has similar problems annoying enemies like the monkeys that are as tanky as a hunter but as hard to hit as the Cerberus making it annoying at parts & then you have the badly implemented 2 character system on top of no item boxes meaning you gotta carry all that stuff to the area you heading when it comes. Also the hook shot but overall its not a bad game just um not the best in the original 5 games (1, 2, 3, CV, remake 1, & 0) also outbreak kinda fits there but its kinda odd to explain. I think I have the same problem the game that I firstly really played was REV2 & then 6 making them some of my favourites despite 6 not being the best loved its really fun with a friend but alone its not nearly as fun. RE 1s remake is the best of them as it is capable of replacing the original as its like the directors cut of the game with graphics that still look amazing for a game from 2001 or was it 2002 defiantly over 20 years old. Anyway 2s remake acts as a good companion for gameplay but story is by far the original since the remake has a bit of a lack of Leon & Claire being as good characters just look up why its bad & an hour or so long indepth analysis will pop up. I watched it being ready to defend it but the review was well saying things that weren't saying it was a bad game just one that failed to adept the easy parts of the story. RE3 remake does the same but some gameplay things just make the flaws obvious to all unlike 2 that can only be spotted by someone like the girl that made the analysis who says she plays it all the time to you know spot but people like the ones to have played it as a child it just hits the nostalgia right.

I prefer REmake 3 over 2, short and linear games are the best. I got fed up with all the back tracking and 4 campaigns in 2. Quality over quantity. Also, 2's story makes zero sense with both characters facing mostly the same bosses, mr. X dying differently in Leon A and Claire B, WAT?? It's a mess. In 2002 I paid 72€ for Metroid Fusion which I can complete 100% in 1h 45min, one of my all time favourite games. If the price of RE3R is the problem, just wait for the price drop (and bug fixes, triple A games are never finished when publishing) like me! 30€ for this game was a fair price.

Remake 3 has insanely fun gameplay thanks to the dodge mechanic. It follows the Remake formula of starting with cinematics and switching to gameplay later. Nightmare/Inferno is basically Remake 2’s A/B scenario (which is a plus for Re3R and a minus for Re2R). And finally, while it can be considered the weakest remake… RE3 OG is also the weakest of the RE OG Trilogy! RE3 OG’s lore about the supervisors getting combat data of the BOW’s wasn’t that cool. While Remake 3 added 2 amazing plot points, 1, Nemesis connects to Re4 and now Luis was a Nemesis developer, 2, getting the T virus cure is a big deal and the game lets you know in a futile attempt to save the city. All in all, Remake 3 improved gameplay compared to Remake 2 and improved story compared to R3 OG.

It deserves a Remake of the remake for cutting so much stuff is it a great game yes. Did they cut half the areas Enemies and the choices yes. Did they cut Nemesis chasing you through most the game yes they did he not even really a stalker except the 1st part. The choices i hope they remake this RE 3 remake with the same love as RE 2 R an RE 4 remake cause most the story is lost here. An no Licker Nemesis please that Boss was just a gimmick for the Mine thrower coulda added the Super Licker they cut from RE 2 R for that. I love the game as a game but they coulda done better.

People who hated Re 3 Remake are blinded by nostalgia. They brag about the content in Re 3 OG when its only 6 hours long. The Water treatment puzzle is 1 hour long and call it content. Re 3 Remake has better pacing.
