I love that you're mentioning the 3D element. Although as a 3D enthusiast I can honestly say that the format isn't anything mindblowing in this instance. As with most 3D horror flicks, the cinematography is typically drenched in darkness and 3D *hates* the dark. That being said, if it wasn't for the 3D element, I really wouldn't have a reason to return to this one.

There’s so many Slow Motion sequences that were done to show off the 3D at the time. But is now just hilarious to watch now in 2D.

It was great to see Wentworth Miller and Ali Larter in the movie is Chris and Claire Redfield. That being said, the film was all right but the 3D sets looked as lifeless as the zombies.

I liked the narration from Ric Soloman. Some of these JoBlo videos are a struggle, but he did a great job.

I loved this movie. I need another Alice Resident Evil. People really underestimate how these movies reinvented the zombie genre!

I skipped all these films in the theater and only within the past few months did I watch one, then another, then buy the box set. Definitely silly action horror that is fun and almost addictive to watch. If I was a hardcore fan of the games I'm pretty sure I'd have a different feeling, but as it is it's a welcome diversion.

I freaking adore this 4th entry! From the aesthetics up to the banger OSTs!! I would die just to see it on the big screen and if possible in 3D... 🥺😭 It was such a super awesome film and thank you for continuing these RE film revisits 🖤🙏🏻

This used to be my favorite in the series! The Wesker fight was so good and Chris! My man!!!! And Claire! She’s the best casted Claire in the film world

It is my 2nd fave in the series, after the first movie. I got to watch it in the cinema, the only one I got to see in the cinema actually. Apocalypse and Extinction are alright. Yes please continue covering the series. Finish what you started 😂 I havent seen the last movies in the series because I dont know how many there are after this one.

On the subject of Resident Evil Retribution, while I think that it has the same flaws as Afterlife and that they both feel like filler episodes of a tv series stretched to feature length, I kinda prefer it over Afterlife because it at least has a more clear plot structure and the action doesn’t feel too out of place.

Exactly. I saw the first in theatre, but after that, they just got so bad. Unfortunately there’s in a different fan base and they shoved the horror fans to the side

Yeah I remember watching the end fight with Chris, Jill and Wesker and thinking it was inspired film making. Then I played resi5, the whole fight is blow for blow ripped off from a cut scene in the game. It happens in a different location, a castle/mansion kinda thing instead of a ship but yeah. Paul W.S. Anderson claiming fame for an idea he plagiarized. Google it, I stand by my statement...⚡

Never been a fan of the RE live action movies because of CAPCOM because of their edict that the movies can’t directly follow the games. The Anderson saga started off with an ok start but every subsequent movie seemed to get worse and worse.

I love zombie movies. Have since the early 80's. I love the Resident Evil video game franchise. Even enjoyed the much maligned #6 on PS3, the Umbrella Chronicles on the Wii, and the spin-offs on PS2 (Outbreaks) and PS3 (Revelations and Operation Racoon City). Good game franchise. Convoluted? Absolutely. But, enjoyable and often unique. Having said all of that, I can't stand the movie franchise. Except the first one. The first animated major release, RE: Degeneration was okay... but, honestly, I would rather just play a game, rather than watch what equates to all the cut scenes of one. I struggle to say anything good about ANY of the movies, from Apocalypse on. They are the equivalent of the Bay Transformer franchise: shiny, hollow, cash grabs made by men that have some fantastic technical chops; but, lack the ability to write... anything good. No soul, creative development, or interesting narrative.
