I would agree but didn’t we just get a movie last year that gave us exactly what you’re asking for? And that movie “Welcome to Raccoon City” was a total snooze fest. It doesn't have to be a god damn recreation of video game place and story. Why would you want to watch a 2 hour video about the things we did in video game? Mansion isn't the heart of resident evil. It is Umbrella corp and T virus. Mansion is just the environment in which we, the players get exposed to the story of resident evil. But what I don't get is, why can't they just make a canon series or movie that doesn't try to reinvent the wheel but develops a show/movie that is integral to the actual game universe? It can be totally different setting, but the story should be in the same universe and canonical, meaning there are no changes to the characters that were already established like it was retconed. I wouldn't like resident evil show/movie that is a recreation of the story I played. I'd like resident evil show/movie that has its own unique setting and story but 100% relevant to the actual franchise, universe and where next RE game installment could also reference what show/movie as well as movie/show could reference multiple points of game stories, and even bring the game characters on big screen (yeah they would look/sound different but it doesn't matter as long as its THAT character, meaning same gender, same color, same nationality). They already have everything established. The world has been built. Stories planted explaining in detail plethora of things. They just have to use all of that, and make a new story with all of that in mind, just like capcom makes new RE game that doesn't alter, retcons, but builds upon it and expands it.

@@gigigaga666 I watched the series and honestly in my opinion and my brother's opinion.... it's not entirely terrible, sure some of the characters are annoying and do bad decisions (Jade Wesker), but honestly the cast do a solid job with what they've been given. Lance Reddick is the highlight of the series and he's freaking awesome as this unique take on franchise baddie, Albert Wesker (won't spoil anything else beyond that). The action and horror elements are really good and like I said before the visual effects are pretty solid, a step up from the last movies and crappy reboot. I know what you're thinking "You liked this?!" umm... yeah, I literally watched something worse than this and that was the later sequels in the Milla Jovovich lead film series and Welcome to Raccoon City. My older brother liked the series as well and he's a hard-core Resident Evil fan since playing the first game on Playstation, we treat this series as a Elseworlds type of thing, a different universe of its own that has familiar elements from the franchise as a whole. I'm honestly down for a second season of the series and see what they do next and hope they ramp up on the horror factor and also improve on the script and characters.
