I'm really suprised that so many people still play that game online

This game is so much fun. It's hated so harshly it bothers me because it doesn't deserve it. It's underrated. Even to this day I could go back & play it & have a great time

This game was a unique experience. I hope it keeps getting enough love to get a remake/sequel.

I picked this up while it was on sale on the Microsoft store, I was honestly surprised I was able to find both campaign and multiplayer games. Managed to find a full lobby for a few hours of heroes and the extraction mode. Wish I could have played this back when it first came out but I'm happy to have experienced it. Honestly some pretty good dumb fun with other players.

My biggest issue was how it locked the entire Spec Ops campaign behind a DLC paywall, which made me wait until I could buy the base game at a much lower price to compensate. Also, once I did get my copy, I found the Spec Ops campaign far superior compared to the U.S.S. one, which did not even have a final boss creature like the former did. In terms of which aspects gave me the most amount of mixed thoughts, I would have to pick the game’s class system. In my opinion, it mostly had good ideas, but some of the skills/technology felt out of place in the RE universe and the Surveillance class was almost useless, other than for easier XP farming by collecting data. So I once tried to reimagine how the six classes could work. I pictured the “Recon” and “Surveillance” being hybridized into a “Scout” class, the addition of a new class called the “Cleaner”, and certain passive/active abilities being modified to feel more like skills/tools that fit the RE universe. *If you would like to read through my ideas and share your thoughts, I am pasting them further down…* *Assault* PA1: Body Armor PA2: Quick Reload AA1: Manufacture Ammo - (use Reloading Tool from original RE3 to craft and drop a small pile of ammo onto the ground, for yourself or a team member to use) AA2: Enhance Ammo - (use that same RE3 reloading tool to make a certain number of bullets in your current and next magazines inflict more damage) AA3: Ballistic Shield - (pull out a miniature riot shield to protect oneself from incoming fire, which has similar controls as a zombie shield) *Scout (mixes abilities from Recon/Surveillance)* PA1: Item Detection PA2: Stealth Run AA1: Motion Detector AA2: Threat Scanner AA3: Bow-Gun - (allows player to pull out the crossbow from original RE2 and fire a certain amount of bolts, which act like silent sniper rifle shots) *Medic* PA1: First-Aid Proficiency PA2: Field Medic AA1: Stimpack AA2: Neutralize Infection AA3: Painkiller *Cleaner (trained to contain spread of escaped creatures or bio-hazardous material, by recapture or sterilization)* PA1: Antiviral Proficiency PA2: Infection Resistance - (takes character longer to become a zombie if infected) AA1: Flamethrower - (the flamethrower is reimagined as a special weapon for this class to use in short bursts, instead of as a special weapon found in crates, which can somehow be reloaded with normal ammo and is overpowered against Tyrants) AA2: Acid Rounds - (player can fire one to three acid grenades at a time) AA3: Freeze Rounds - (player can fire one to three of those freezing grenades from original RE3) *Field Scientist* PA1: Stun Gun - (allows player the option to instantly escape an enemy grab, while leaving it stunned, like Jill Valentine can in RE1 Remake) PA2: Reduced Zombie Aggression - (zombies are less quick to notice and attack that specific player) AA1: Attract Pheromone AA2: B.O.W. Beacon - (fire darts equipped with blinking lights and noisemakers at a target, which B.O.W.s like Hunters are conditioned to always attack, while other creatures like Lickers and Infected Crows will also respond aggressively towards them) AA3: Hunter Ally - (calls over a Hunter, which is imprinted on those particular agents, follows the team close by, assists in combat, and becomes tougher as the skill is buffed) *Demolition* PA1: Blast Armor PA2: Blast Master AA1: Fragmentation Mine AA2: Timed Sticky Explosive AA3: Laser Trip Mine

I kinda wish capcom make a game like you said with more Interactions between the wolf pack cuz the character designs are really cool and it would be a cool to play a more traditional RE game that let's you play as the bad guys . Let's hope the rumor of a stand alone hunk game are true .

Good times, it was fun to play the as a villain. Hated the spongy human enemies tho

I actually enjoyed the concept of the game a lot. My main complaints were the hilariously clunky controls, weak gunplay and fanfiction-level writing. This is the game Capcom should remake in the same vein as RE2 and RE4.

Despite clear flaws, I liked Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City. I wish it got a proper bigger budget sequel that ironed out the negatives of the 2012 original. Besides Outbreak, ORC was probably the best online focused game in the franchise. I'd play ORC any day over: RE5 Versus, Umbrella Corp, Resistance, and Reverse. It was fun to play as the bad guys for a change in RE. Definitely better than that absolute lazy cash grab that was Umbrella Corp. Side note, I also liked that the UBCS actually looked like the UBCS from RE Nemesis 1999 unlike the more generic CoD soldiers in RE3 2020.

While the plot and character interactions are minimal, I would argue that the detail is surprising. Everyone takes friendly fire damage, if you shoot Beltway in the foot, he understandably takes damage. If you shoot Beltway in his prosthetic foot, he does not take damage. He is the only character who has a hitbox on one leg but not the other. Lupo is squad leader, and mentioned as caring about her squad, will sometimes use the squad members real name when telling them to be careful after reviving them. The Spec OPS DLC improved on everything, and it's a shame more people didn't get to try it. This game is by no means a masterpiece. It's a mindless fun co op shooter, and it never advertised itself as more. I feel this puts it above RE5 and 6, as they were both mindless co op action shooters that sold themselves as survival horror.

I'm happy but shocked the competitive multiplayer still has players. The MP has alot of really cool ideas and it's a blast to play

This why operation Raccoon City And Resident Evil Outbreak 1 and 2 needs a remake badly Capcom as Trilogy bundle with mercenaries mode and please add the oFF Line Multiplayer cooperative co-op campaign mode to become playable for oFF Line player's. Create our own Umbrella security Mercenaries and Survivor mode be as a Project Risistence of umbrella mode that be interesting. Add infinite bullets for new ton unlock guns and dlc uniform and biogas Mask helmets.

This game is a prime example of a game with bad gameplay, and a terrible plot, but amazing characters. The Wolf Pack needs to be made canon.

Here are how this RE:ORC can actually comeback alive with major ideas that can be implemented if possible to be remake. 1) the gameplay mechanics should be changes. i find the control of moving, running, taking cover, and even shooting are difficult. maybe the game remake in future can use RE4 remake mechanics cuz i find that one much amazing so far. 2) the story should be based on the original timeline and plot. if they happens gonna make changes to the history of REs, it should be done properly and not messed as how it is. For example, how they locate the target like Leon, Sherry, the packages, or mission should be display or explain in detail so it will show how it will actually impact the plots without making disarrayed. 3) How Delta team deployment should be improved. Instead of transitions of fade blacks like the 1st mission, maybe how they being selected, backgrounds of characters, weapon selection and favorites, how and what kind of transportation that they used to be sent to the location of their tasks. 4) Instead of game mechanics of proceeding to the point without detail exploration, double back and flexibility for the whole map and world of the game, it should allow the players to observe and see the whole area that being provided or rather open world one with bunch of jump scares, easter eggs, clues, mysteries, unlockable items weapons outfits... those will make the players will go seeking for something new that be used for missions. 5) team interactions, getting to know each of the team whether Delta team or other team, each of them should have backstories. the deployment should be whole team and not just for among the crew. thats the whole point of the trailer showing each characters with specific traits skills and fighting style. players should also can do quests from team members which will affect every single of the teammates which also will affect how the game will progress. For example, since i love Vector, i would love to make him close to Specter and intimate relationship with four eyes although it sounds impossible for vector to be that close with four eyes but its an idea. The bonds and relationship that being developed will cause the Specter and Four Eyes will likely to stick close and follow Vector since those two develop trust towards Vector and this will cause envy hatred and betrayal towards Bertha Lupo and Beltway. In the end, whatever choice Vector made, Four Eyes and Specter will follow as they trust that he make the best decision compared to the others. Thats how it should be. 6) The command should have provided extra access like requesting for ammunition, weapon that available in arsenals, or deployment of extra item like BOWs that will support the Delta team throughout the mission with the cost of points or scores from the games that players make. the BOWs that being deployed for support dont have to be immortal just like how indestructible Nemesis in the game. Like the BOWs can be accessed after they defeat or captured them so that the Umbrella can replicate and make massive manufacture of them for standby. that will definitely make the game gone mad and insanely epic. 7) weapon modification also need to be in the game. like suppressed rifle is kinda funny it suppressed by default. should provide modification option that suits players' style like scopes, type of mags, rails, gas, barrels, stocks, canted, ammo types which will affect the guns performance. 8) special events and events all over the place like main mission, bonus, one time pop up quest, daily, these should exist to make it more than just ambitious trailer but lousy real game. 9) rather than just fighting the bots like zombies, BOWs and spec ops how about real war against the other team, Echo Six. the encounter of Echo Six for saving the remaining people in city with Delta team attempt to kill the rest of people that could become witness for Umbrella doings just like the trailer did. why not have that one? 10) CQCs like in the trailer should be in game not just combo of finishers. maybe add like counter QTEs when enemy attacking players can have option like tanking the attack, parry, block or evade it like how Willow from Echo Six fight Lickers single handedly. 11) Crossfire situation like while Echo Six and Delta team having fight, maybe the game can like try to annoy the players by spawning some enemies starting from zombies, ferals, then BOWs or reinforcement from enemy sides to make it more like real battlefield in racoon city. I have been playing many games and definitely REs win my heart for the rest of my life. so i hope Capcom will at least take consideration of my ideas cuz i see the game has the potential but dont just put the hope and potential only in trailer but also in game. the game is fine but kinda like lazy but still working only. fans definitely hope that every game that being released will live up to expectation at least and not ended up being fart disappointment.

I'm surprised you didn't bring up the melee system. It's really fun to use, after you figure it out. My biggest problem with ORC is the fact that it doesn't teach you how to use the melee system. I didn't know any of the button combos. I noticed my teammates using melee, but I didn't find out how to do a lot of those moves until I'd been playing for 2 years.

ORC was fun for what it was along with the graphic cutscene in the what if scenarios of Raccoon City Lore. The hype before the release was about causing a change in the RE timeline , but that change was only in the final mission which was anti climatic. The lack of diverse action set pieces, exploration map, BOW enemies, and weapons that actually felt different and relevant instead of obsolete. The echo 6 campaign being locked behind dlc paywall is a greedy move splitting the game in half. If anything if a very good remake of RE outbreak is release I hope they add a scenario involving the Outbreak survivors trying to survive the USS delta team clean up.

Playing it was a guilty pleasure. But I KNOW it doesn’t deserve all the praise in the world. Why? Cause the game had an insanely high price DLC that was basically a second game in length compared to base game. Spec Ops killing 10 tyrants is something the base game could have used. On a positive note. The fight against super Tyrant is by all means cooler here than in Remake 2. In fact it seems Remake 2 got inspired by this game.

In fact Re ORC was like a prototype before the release of RE6 I guess. It's the first which have dodging moves in 4 directions, then we had it on RE6. It also had no tank control unlike Re4 et 5. Funny fact it was hated by some fans but with the long coop campaigns it's the closest to Resident evil Outbreak and you visit all the emblematic locations of the previous games and fight Mr X, Nemesis and Birkin !

I got this at release, and while it wasn't great overall, I feel my time with my friends made it better. Overall I feel like if more time was put into the game to built the story more and trying to make the gameplay more Gears of War(Which I feel it clearly is trying to cash in on), then it would have done better. But you put it well, it's dumb fun, and honestly treating it like that and not a mainline RE game would have made more people just enjoy it. Hell I had more fun with this over RE5 and 6, and I guess that is due to I expected horror with those, in RE:ORC I wasn't all that much.

Well I've just finished the main campaign (unfortunately offline, since it was taken off steam and I had to pirate it) and I really really want to like this game...but there's just too many little things that make me not like it. It's definitely not as bad as I expected but like you said in the video, there should be more interaction between Wolfpack than what we got in the game. (The only thing that was in my campaign was when Four Eyes put her hand on Vector's shoulder and asked if he's okay, but he said to keep her hands off him). Plus idk why but I think enemies were much bigger bullet sponges than I thought they'd be, the game was also irritating on offline since bots wouldn't revive other bots and I wouldn't get revive state when my hp fell to zero (yeah, it wasn't a fun time at the end section of the game). But overall what I did like was an alternative take on the story, which I'd like to see developed more and wolfpack themselves, mainly designs (as well as their power concept sounded interesting). Is it my least favorite Resident Evil? From which I've played, yes. But I believe that if I ever play survivor it'll take its place

My biggest issues with the game are story & gameplay. In terms of story they had so much potential that they squandered. They didn't commit to the evil umbrella angle. You're a clean up crew, you should be doing the heinous things a clean up crew does. That doesn't mean the characters have to be 1 dimensional baddies, but make them follow orders regardless of their thoughts on them and make the orders dark like an soulless corporation would. The gameplay problems are more of a "me" thing. I want survival horror out of my Resident Evil games. Make ammunition more sparse. Change the environments and gameplay mechanics to bring about horror. ie: RE2 Remake and RE4 Remake. You can have multiplayer games still be survival horror but the gameplay mechanics cant make you superman, the amount of ammunition can't make you feel like Rambo, and the environments can't make you feel like you're in a generic action TPS/FPS. Resident Evil Outbreak did multiplayer survival horror really well, and if you merged those concepts with the RE2/4 Remakes I think you'd have one of the most loved games in the Resident Evil franchise.

I feel like this would be great for capcom to remake. Tweak the story and modernize the gameplay. Graphically it’s not that big of the deal simply because the RE engine just makes games beautiful, but I wouldn’t be mad if capcom remade this.

It was one of the last backward compatible games added to Xbox. I just got done installing it on Xbox One S and played it for about 30 mins but no one joined my campaign game. It's fun mowing down bad guys though. I could think of many other games that should have got the backwards compatible love over this game, like Army of Two The 40th Day, The Devil's Cartel, or Space Marine.

This was one of my number one favorite games to play with my friends, And in regards to the not having three weapon sings I think it was more having to do with the multiplayer to keep that balance, I still to this day believe if they could just figure out a way to remove from the Xbox Live on the steam version or whatever these Spain's version issue is, I mean most of the time me and my friends never played the story we played for the multiplayer, my set up with playing Vector with the suppressed assault rifle and suppressed pistol the only way the enemy could find me was if they hunted me and when I did that my team would come up there rear and Destroy them

Gameplay wise O.R.C is pretty decent and I never had a problem with the story since the games are b movies in game form. I do think if this had been a normal third person shooter and it was about what H.U.N.K was doing during the events of certain games and in between them like the Chronicle games did with some characters it would have been much better recieved

Nope, Umbrella Corp is the new WORST RE game in the series😂😂😂. Love the vid!! The only thing I SERIOUSLY hated about the game besides the enemy sponges and ai of teams is that CAPCOM purposely sold us half the game for full retail only to give us the 2nd campaign, 2nd half as dlc even though we had that 5 minute trailer of the 2 teams before the game released.

First time I played this game nearly 10 years ago, I literally couldn't get past Berkin. My team would just stand there and spray him in intervals, it was like they were firing M16's while taking 3-4 seconds in between shots. He would constantly wipe us out. After that I set the game down and never touched it again. Luckily I bought it used from a game store using store credit so it didn't really cost me much, I think it was like $15 at the time.

Dang I remember this game. Strangely, I seem to recall having a load of fun playing it on ps3 years ago. I didn't know it was such a disliked game until a short while ago on account of nobody ever talking about it in so long.

I loved this game, flaws and all. The CPU was my biggest gripe and the mechanics could have been better. It was a lot of fun with other players, and multiplayer I loved. Fighting Leon at the end was hard and fun. I felt sad being responsible for Clare getting her head shot in the end. I always wanted to play Spec Ops campaign but I lost my copy in a divorce. Ex-wife broke the disc.

When slant 6 games represented resident evil 3 better than the resident evil 3 remake.

I'll never call it a good game but I've always really enjoyed it. I wanted to play it on PC for the longest time but there was an issue with Games for Windows Live which they only recently sorta fixed.

That's the sad thing. we need more resident evil c-op games like this or 5 where you just experience story together. It's a shame that nothing is currently coming that meets my requirements! RE outbrake was an interesting experiment in that direction. RESIDENT EVIL is not dead, the potential should also be exploited here. I'm still waiting "in vain" for a playable pc version of Resident Evil 2 and 3 (of course the old games) with CO OP function!

i loved this game since i was like 8-9 i think honestly i was a little surprised playing it last year to figure out this game does well on multiplayer at least online with the story mode your mostly gonna find matches on the hardest mode though but even then its fun also the characters do technically have backstories but they are on their character select so....yeah my favorite character is vector since he can turn invisible honestly i think this game is really good idk why this game is so hated it has its problems sure but most of them are not really an issue also i found out that the dlc story you pretty much go through some of the lock doors in the main story seeing more of the place but....i only found that out on the first mission since i didn't buy the rest of them yet and i like the camera hunting its a pretty neat side thing to do and collecting the data to get XP to buy guns and abilities is pretty fun and they also unlock concept art...well the collecting does idk about buying them with your points no idea if the dlc story is a prequel or not though it gives off both vibes like after and before

I feel like this game could have benefited from focusing less on the 'SOCOM copy' gameplay. Having actual multiple pathways that focuses on each character's personality. There's also a LOT of bugs too.

Friend and I bought this on launch day. The AI could not find itself around walls, could shoot you behind those walls with hitsplats showing on your screen but you would never actually die. I don't know if this was ever patched, but we played about 1 hour before we realized there is nothing to the game beyond shoot things in a room, move, shoot, move. And even then, we didn't have to shoot. We could just keep moving.

I actually tried to get into this game for the first time a couple weeks ago but couldn't do it and ended up watching a playthrough with some dude on the internet and I have to tell you the truth I don't even remember anything except the end 🤣 Edit: I had just come from re6 so I found the controls on this not the greatest

This game is the definition of both frustrating design and having an identity crisis. Frustrating is when you have those moments you are knocked down by a blast(scripted) even though you are nowhere near the door(level 1) or when birkin smashes through and you have to suddenly perform a quick time event. The identity crisis is basically where they couldn't commit to a path to take the game, this is exemplified by your complaint of not being able to leap over cover that's waist high, the game wants to be action horror, but also survival horror, but can't commit to either. The pieces are there, but it's like they purposely chose the wrong pieces...

It has generated a lot of hate by many, but I thought it was pretty Unique and enjoyable

This game is such a mechanical mess no doubt about it but i can't help to say that i had a really fun time playing it for online multiplayer purposes. My favorite would be g-sample retrieval mode and heroes mode and i played them for hours.

I think I'm crazy, I have poured so many hours in this game on Xbox and PC over and over just because of the aesthetic.

My number one favorite resident evil game. Here's a small tip for handing nemesis his ass. The first character power to upgrade is wolf mothers invincibility. The first gun you should purchase is called a juggernaut. Go down to the crates and stand directly in front of nemesis. Turn on invincibility. Hit him with the juggernaut and he'll drop in 10 to 15 seconds.
