The Resident Evil games have built a reputation for those kinds of details, they’ve liked their characters to show various levels of professionalism when handling different firearms ever since the original REmake.

I loved that Capcom still puts some extra polish on those details. Wish they would go back to using the licensed names for guns, though I think Sony has a weird policy about that which has basically influenced every title since SIE in the US became a thing.

@@lawoftsunami The Classic Universal Studios monster properties, like Dracula, The Wolfman, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, Frankenstein, and others are Universal Studios monsters. the Originals are Black & White films from classic Hollywood. They tried to reboot those franchises a few years back as "the dark Universe" starting with Tom Cruise's The Mummy, but flopped and they cancelled the reboots.

That’s a lot and that’s not even counting the miscellaneous horror films like The Old Dark House and The Raven.

Tbh, I don’t like this direction, feels like 4 again and I really don’t like 4. Like I’m happy for everyone else, it just feels like I’m being left behind, again just like 4. And doesn’t feel like resident evil. I personally had high hopes after the recent remakes. But I guess we’re still doing the 1st person, weird storyline that low key continues the ridiculous main storyline. They desperately need to reboot the series. At least it’s still survival horror I suppose... _stares off in a flashback to driving a motorcycle off skyscrapers and punching boulders_

The game itself said D's daughters are literally insects that weaken in cold temperatures. They're not vampires. There's a note before you kill the last one (on the 2nd, I can't remember) that explains how D 'created' them. So the cold draft makes sense bc they're just a mass of flies. I think the 2nd daughter even says 'uuu a lil bit of cold air? how scary!' before you blast the wall open to let more air in.

Fun fact on vampires being weak to sunlight: it's not actually their weakness. The reason people think that is because during the movie Nosferatu, the title named antagonist was low on blood and needed it from the Damsel in Distress otherwise his entire body would crumble away into dust. The reason people think vampires are weak to the sunlight is because Nosferatu ran out of time to get his supply of blood to keep his body moving and it just so happened to occur when the sun was coming up which is what led to the belief that vampires die in sunlight. Vampires don't actually die when they go into the sun, they just lose their powers with the exception of shape-shifting. The Dracula novel also led to the sunlight weakness belief being set in stone

⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠@@petercooper131no, the lore about them is heavily cultural and goes back to Mesopotamia at the earliest with the Lamia and Lamashtu archetypes. The spoken lore and written lore is far more ancient on Vampires and Vampire like characters. Which are, in all reality, Revenants, and not Missile Launching jet pack kind. Their modern lore is heavily influenced by novels and short stories in the 18th and 19th centuries and film from the 20th and 21st centuries, sure, but those novels and movies are sourced from stuff further back and amalgamated or combined. Like the anti-Dracula propaganda of Dracula drinking the blood of a recently impaled (on the same spike) mother and baby amongst a forest of impaled “innocents” gave rise to an amalgamated character often referred to as the “King of Vampires”. Also, Nosferatu was a copyright infringement on the Dracula character, its an unauthorized and unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Stoker's heirs sued over the adaptation, and a court ruling ordered all copies of the film to be destroyed. There’s a real fun fact for ya.

Honestly, despite everyone NOT shutting up about Lady Demitrescu, this game still has that horror feel that has a mixture of Resident Evil 7 & 4 and I'm glad for that. It's been a while since we have gotten ourselves a decent survival horror game. I still prefer traditional third person survival horror myself, but it's great to see Resident Evil going back to it's horror roots.

Play RE2 Remake or the RE1 Remake, that's classic survival horror. RE Village is RE4 without the fun combat and charm. Story is chasing after Last of Us 2.

@Nigger Man 2 Eldritch Boogaloo Yeah, by that point, it feels more like she is just created for sex appeal only. It is even more annoying, how much the entire internet couldn't shut up about her either, which kind of really ruins the fear factor from that character over all. Nemesis, despite being done injustice in the remake, at the part of the town, when he actually does chase you around ,still gives off that fear factor, when he relentlessly chases you in some of the areas of the game. Plus, his tendrils do pull you back towards him to give you the final blow with his fists. Nemesis is scarier in the original RE 3 though, no doubt about it. But I just think the whole invicible giant monster thing chasing you around relentlessy does loose it's appeal after Mr.X was so done well in the RE2 Remake. Hell, Nemesis was suppose to be scarier then Mr. X. But that's what happens, when a game is being rushed just for a quick buck.

It's called a Gyrojet Pistol, though the real one didn't have exploding rockets. Still while an interesting concept it's actual effectiveness was minimal due to horrible accuracy derived from the budget rocket stabilization used, and thus it never really got off the ground.

The rocket pistol is a real pistol called a Gyrojet. It was complete trash and had an actual minimum range, because the tiny rockets it fired would need to speed up to actually hurt anyone.

Hey man, you can actually turn off that delay in movement in the settings! You have to go to camera settings and turn both aiming and camera movement acceleration to none.

Ya know this review really reminded me of the old G4 reviews with Adam and Morgan, the editing style by using clips of the game to reinforce what he says, like using clips of the merchant and lady D throughout. It’s quality and comical, I’m for it, really brought me back. Thanks for not spoiling anything and showing me enough to where I can expect the play style of this game and all the unlockable guns, but I’m not ruined on what’s going to happen in the game. Sweet, I like that.

minor correction. Its not the sunlight that makes the 3 witches vulnerable, its the cold. you can find it in a note that the bugs they are made of are sensitive to cold.
