A neighborhood in New Baltimore is dreading the next big storm. The neighborhood has been flooded repeatedly, and the residents believe a construction project on a wetlands area right next to their street is to blame.

Need to get the hole story channel 4. 1st there was more then 1 tree left on site 2nd they bought their houses knowing they were level with the wet land.

1# these people have been complaining about the flooding before development so it is not like they “want” the area to “stay” a wet land (like conservationists ). #2 putting in these condos should actually alleviate the flooding problems with putting in proper drainage.

During construction, after mass grading a site, the soil is so compacted that it won't absorb any water, so runoff volume is maximized. They should have constructed some temporary basins probably. But after completion, when much of the site is vegetated/sodded and the storm sewer and detention system is completed, I'm guessing this issue will go away.

I wonder if these people are worried about the "trees" or worried about what is being built... Sounds like a bunch of NIMBYs to me. There was clearly a flooding problem before, those houses were probably built on that wetland too!

You are 100% correct I was out there on this jobsite. These people want stuff done to there properties that have flooded for years why bc they are in the wetland.
