How can there be an isolated essential singularity at z=0 for z.cos(1/z) as lim exists for f(z) as z tends to zero.

Expand cos(1/z) in Laurent series . Like this .. Write cos(x) in Taylor series . And put x = 1/z then multiple z .. the coefficient of 1/z after multiplied by z is called residue. .
