Hello Steve! Have you ever thought of categorizing your videos? I know as a newbie to this amazing world the amount of videos that you have is astounding, but a bit intimidating when looking for a specific video on a technique. As always, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! Your care and candor regarding the products you use and the willingness you demonstrate to share your creativity…a true blessing!! ❤️

Hi Crystal all my videos are in playlists. I have always put them in playlists from the first video. I think you have to go to my channel to see them, by clicking on my profile pic. I have them broken down into about 15 different categories. Thank you so much for your lovely words and your support, it means the world to me 😀

If any of you have not jointed Steve’s VIP account for Facebook you are missing out. I have been a member for years and even if I am not crafting I enjoy the comradely with the members. Steve took a break this weekend to celebrate his birthday. He really should not have left us on our own. 🙈😂 We had a go at discussing some PVC sheeting in bright red.

It’s so amazing how far resin has come. When I was young I used to make things with resin. There was on one kind and when I removed it from the mold, which was freaking impossible, I had to polish the heck out of it to get to be clear. Keep in mind I’m retirement age. And this was when I was a teenager.

It's part of the reason you are important to our community! 😊 You got to see the progression from early on, so you can regale us newbies on what the epoxy climate is looking like now, and what "issues" are just old-hat features. ☺️ Thanks for sharing!

I do appreciate you and other experienced "resin-ators" that share your hard-earned knowledge. Settling in on a brand can be a personal choice but understanding the different types of resin and their uses is information all of us need to know and accept as "rules of process" if we want our projects to succeed. I am very much at the beginning of my journey, but I am very interested in UV resistant resin, as I want to make things that will stand up to an outside environment. I'm in the US, and also follow a number of woodworkers. Not all, but a lot of them use a brand called Total Boat. Total Boat's primary customer base are boat builders and restoration projects. All of Total Boat's products must stand up to some harsh environments. So I will eventually give them a try. Meanwhile, I am using J Diction and Let's Resin with positive results. I do have a question about which silicone you or others choose for mold making. Not the brand but which Shore Hardness? Shore 30 is common, but wouldn't Shore 20 or even 10 make a more flexible mold that would be less prone to tearing when demolding?

Thank you so much for your support I am so pleased I can help. I am using the JDiction silicone at the moment or the Let’s Resin one. They are both excellent. I have a whole playlist on making moulds that may help you 😊

ppe is soooo important. Personal Protection Equipment. When I had not worn it ... i looked like facial plastic surgery that had gone very badly wrong. My fave resin is Vida Rosa for uv. Always wear ppe or end up looking looking (I can think of a few words) bad! Thank you for your posts.

Thanks so much Steve. My first resin creation was a pyramid light for my grandson with a bmx bike, a scateboard and a scooter in it. But I was disappointed as there were problems with it I had not expected from watching other crafters, and I lost the confidence to create. It's been a year and watching your videos and especially the tips and tricks ones has given me some confidence again and I am going to start crafting again. Thanks so much for being REAL and showing us the truth of it all. I watch everything you do and I really appreciate YOU and all your happy videos. Merry Christmas to you and your family from Perth, Australia. xx

Would you mind doing a very detailed video about using shallow VS deep pour? What can go in each? What's the benefit of doing a deep pour as opposed to layers of shallow pour resin? Especially when you 're making a detailed effect? I have watched so many videos and I'm looking to do a 3D effect, and it's all so confusing. 😮‍💨

YOUR ADVICE PLEASE- I am painting & staining large pieces of Spruce wood for serving cold foods. I have Let’s Resin, resin BUT I want to use the BEST resin possible as these are for some gifts & eventually for sale. Let’s resin has been fine for my projects so far but I’ve never made these before. Which resin would you advise me to use for clarity, non yellowing & lasting? I thank you for your advice & hope you had a blessed Christmas & New Year🥰

Thank you 😊 for your videos. I have problems like uv resin that doesn't fully cure under the light so I come back to your channel to find the truth 🙏❤️ Now I know that the mold gets hot and maybe I should leaving it in the mold for at least a day or get the resin you suggest! My angels turned out pixies so I'll try again 😊

You mentioned the the video you did on quality of resins, which was a great one. However it just covered epoxy resin, how about doing a similar test for the UV resins that included yellowing when exposed to sunlight? I've seen posts where people had severe yellowing, with just hours in the sun, resins that just didn't cure hard. None of these had additives, but were pure resin.

So, once upon a time, there was a really wonderful resin called Ice Resin. You could be off a tiny bit in the mixing, stir as fast as you wanted, and it would de-gas to perfect, bubble free every time. Crystal clear and didn't yellow. Sadly, it was bought out by Ranger and I noticed that the formula has changed. I understand the draw to sell to a large company for a lot of money, but the integrity was lost and it's horrific that things like this happen. I wish company owners would stop looking at the dollar signs and just make a good, consistent product. If you make a great product, then take pride in that and either don't sell out or be happy with the well-above-average income you're making from a great product.
@aprildegele1510
@aprildegele1510 5 ай бұрын
As to bubbles, before I had a pressure pot and when Ice Resin was good, to remove the microbubbles annoyed me. The solution I found was an electric coffee cup warmer. It will heat the resin and float the bubbles, at which point you can torch to remove the rest. Of course, this will speed the curing process, so don't do it if you want to work slowly. Also, instead of trying to get the bubbles with alcohol, try acetone. Still flammable, but dries a little faster. And I know that you're trying to keep folks safe, but as for inhaling either alcohol or acetone, unless it's a LOT, it's not harmful. I'm a retired ER nurse. Some cultures actually inhale alcohol fumes to "cure" nausea. Doesn't work, but it's a cultural thing. I know of no one who has ever been harmed by this practice. Of course, you want to protect yourself, and alcohol provides a fire danger, but not an explosion. The fire is contained to the alcohol itself and will go out as soon as that fuel is exhausted. May not make for a pretty project, but it's no more harmful than having Bananas Foster ... as long as you have adequate ventilation and aren't using gallons of it. I get liability and precautions, but let's be reasonable.
