@@invasivegrube9983 my thought process is this: stegos treated swimming and attacking deinos like a game. They're swim across, then start swinging the second their feet hit the ground if a deino dared swim behind them or even in front of them to attack. There's no reason the land sub-apex should not fear the current water apex if it steps off the land and into the water.

its ok if the o2 wasnt draining so fast, and stam could regenerate 50% faster in water, OR in water while sitting at the bottom of water... maybe double or triple the O2 level

Lol I'm not a fan of deino gameplay usually, but with the adult stego grab I had to get in there and cause excessive amounts of suffering to stegos in particular xD

Lmao the random was truly disposable xD I was surprised y'all were so nonchalant about my approach. One of you didn't even stand up. I could have killed two of you easily in that moment. But I'm not one to just slaughter (anything but stegos) if I don't have to and with both carcasses I was plenty good to go

The one you killed took a beating and I think thats why you one hit chomped him. We are new players and it was actually our first stego kills. Deino v deino is truly peak isle combat 😂 It's honestly way more fun if both deinos try to fight in the water because you have to be much more precise in your movements and bites(because you can actually dodge and what not). Unfortunately most prefer to go on land where they can just stand there and bite

Swamp is gorgeous. I love it there too, minus the recent sound bugs causing fatal errors if you exist there

I dunno, deino has about an hour hunger bar. It's still rough to keep it filled because they require so much food, but once full, you've got time before you're desperate again

I victory screeched xD I'm usually on from 9am-3:30pm MST. It's generally pretty full by 11-ish and starts to decline around 4pm

@@nerdoutreachprogram5358 I really recommend playing it on petits Pieds. There's less deinos overall due to population control, so you get cannibalized far less often than on officials

That's just a visual glitch, if you're spamming your bite it'll happen sometimes, but doesn't do any damage

Yeah, I wasn't too worried on this server. Body camping gives a social score decrease and interrupting carnivore v carnivore fights as a herbivore isn't allowed (and also decreases your social score). On officials I'd absolutely be more careful though

If the stego is swimming, absolutely. I recommend taking them as far from land as possible or putting them in a place they can't easily escape from. You may not have enough stamina to fully drown them otherwise.

I recommend anything with a 30 series RTX graphics card and 32gb ram

What are your specs?

Usually I'd eat and then just wander the swamp or Delta for a while until I was desperately hungry due to lack of prey options. Felt like gateway only wanted to feed me when I was at deaths door!

A lot of determination to not die and a practiced refusal to go to the hot spots. Over time you learn where those who avoid the hot spots go, their migration routes, where they hang out in the swamp, etc. But also, this video is only 20 minutes of probably 15 hours of playing deino. Cannibalism is definitely your friend as a gator in order to supplement your diet between grabs on land dinos.

Lol that would be fun. I've often wished I could simply go into spectator mode, pick a few players, and follow them through their journeys

When there's not much else to eat, cannibalism is often the only real option. I would have starved to death multiple times if I hadn't happened across another deino to slaughter. On this server in particular, AI levels are dynamic so most of the time there's about 15% AI spawn available. Basically just means that living on fish instead of eating other deinos when you're on the verge of starvation isn't an option. But as a bonus, it keeps the gator population down so that you don't get grabbed every time you go to drink. And growing a gator means being cannibalized less because there's less around to eat you

@@MrWeebable basically the amount of AI spawning changes based on how full the server is. If it's full, there's minimal AI spawning, if it's empty, AI spawns more frequently. Growth rate also changes based on how full the server is. The emptier it is, the faster you grow. Which encourages more people to join which fills the server, causing growth speeds to slow down (but still be faster than officials).

I like it simply because it gives full grown super cocky stegos a reason to fear the water. But only if they swim. Basically keeps them in their element or at least gives them pause when they have to cross deep water

thats fair. imo it just removed the gap between a normal deino player and a good deino player. it was one of the few things that good deinos could actually do to separate themselves from the rest, that is, keeping a swimming stego in water while killing them.

i like it, because stegos are way too overpowered

Depends how you look at it. They have a lot of health, a lot of damage, but 0 mobility and 0 stealth. You can get away from a stego on land basically as anything. A deino however. Has a lot of dmg, even more health, minimal land mobility (only minimal over none due to its alt bites being an instant 180 flip) and incredible health. Deinos also have one of the easiest growth times if you are even slightly practiced in it. (And even if you arent, but just practiced in the game). They can also escape to water to become a threat to everything rather than just most things if a fight on land isnt going their way

Teaching stegos to fear the water, one drowning at a time 😂
