One thing that the fishing industry certainly has is die hard fans. Whether it’s a particular brand or a specific type of fishing, there is definitely not a shortage of opinions.
When I first started getting accessories for my first kayak, you were either Team YakAttack or Team Railblaza. I’m not sponsored by either one of them and I will tell you that they both have their pros and cons. Which leads to the question, is it unholy to combine kayak accessories from different companies?
I personally do not think it is. We combine rods and reels from different companies all the time in order to make the “ultimate combo.” So what’s the difference?
I’ve had experienced the issue mentioned in this video with Railblaza’s C-Tug since I first used it as a supplemental set of wheels for my Native Titan 13.5. By combining it with accessories/ parts from YakAttack, I’ve only enhanced my kayaking experience by eliminating a constant frustration.
I hope you enjoy this video and until next time, get a line in the water and TIGHT LINES!!!

Brother I can not tell you how much I appreciate this video!!! I have a jackson big rig and I will avoid going anywhere without a boat ramp because my CTug will flip under the boat and makes it more of a pain than it is worth

Ditch the landing gear and use a cart under the seat so it's balanced then you don't need two sets of wheels. I had the same problem with my slayer max 12.5 and now I'm using a maker pipe cart that I position under the seat for perfect balance and have hauled it fully loaded 1 mile on a horse trail 👍😎

I have a landing gear on my 13'+ Predator PDL and exploring the idea of ditching it and getting C-tug to use it under center. Then I see that vid and thinking man, I can totally use 4 wheels instead two! And then I see your comment ! Way too many options :)

I resolved mine by buying the Wilderness Systems cart. Tired of C-Tug cheap plastic “axle” breaking.

I luckily haven’t had that problem… knock on wood. The weight capacity of the Wilderness Systems cart is amazing! I was shocked after I bought my Boonedox Landing Gear that it had a weight capacity of 180lbs. My kayak with just the seat and pedal drive is 178lbs. For the longest time I was wondering why I kept having problems with it when I had my fishing rods and gear loading in my kayak.

Thanks, Saucy! 😊 I’m hoping to play around with my kayak more… after 5 years, I still haven’t found the perfect camera location on it. I honestly think it’s better to have the camera on your hat unless in the mangroves. At which point, it can be nauseating from all of the head movements to avoid branches.

The c tug would hold the whole boat itself? Place it right it under the backrest of the seat and load up and drag lol

With the sheer weight of my kayak, I would more than likely need the 2 c-tugs with the double up bar. Unfortunately, a majority of the time of the time, I’m loading and unloading my kayak into the bed of my truck by myself. The fully rigged weight (hull, seat, & pedal drive) is 178lbs. I normally have my dry box and a cooler with ice along with some other items attached already when I load and unload into and from the bed of my truck. So the weight of lifting up and down into my truck is well over 200lbs. Because of that, I have to have my landing gear set back further so I won’t break off the rudder or cause other extensive damage to my kayak. Ideally the location which you mentioned would be best; however, my situation and circumstances doesn’t allow it to be a feasible option.

That’s how it goes sometimes man, you have to adapt things to make it better

I’ve actually gotten backlash in the past for some unholy creations and adaptations…. Especially with my primary set of wheels. That’s truly a Dr. Frankenstein’s monster. 😂 The standard wheels couldn’t handle the base weight of the kayak and the lock pins’ lock latches were too short. Hence, the HOB-BLAZA-DOX monstrous creation. 😈 😂

Thank you!!! 🙏🏼 It came out of a problem’s frustration and necessity. If I could make the pivot in order to steer then I’d really be in business. 😆

I just used Husky ratchet tie down with S-hook it keeps the kayak in place.

On my first kayak, I used to use ratchet tie downs and I noticed that if I had the straps a little too tight that it would start to make my kayak bow. I later found out that you can actually crack the hull of your kayak with the ratchet tie down straps and that’s why I switched over to the cam straps. At the end of the day, I’m just trying to protect my investment so I can get as much use out of it as possible.
