Hello everyone, Nick Apicella, owner of ResoNix Sound Solutions & Apicella Auto Sound here. Something new I am doing for our customers is providing an even further than normal customer support experience. All ResoNix & Apicella customers will gain access to our private support group where we post car audio installation, DSP tuning, and sound treatment Tech Tips, How-To videos and write-ups, and provide my direct support to any questions you may have regarding your car audio or automotive sound treatment installation. Again, this group is for ResoNix Sound Solutions and Apicella Auto Sound customers ONLY. This video is the only snippet of this group that the general public will have access to. Any customers with an order of $250 or more (before shipping) will qualify to join this group. When joining, you must provide your order or invoice number on the first request question. If you do not, you will be declined from entering. Only with that number will you gain access to the group. If you do not have access to this number but have ordered from us in the past, feel free to reach out and we can get you that info. Thanks!

Here is our first tech tip on the Helix V5 software. In this video, we will go over an initial setup and how to set up the inputs/outputs in a more complex system. We will go over how the IO menu is laid out, how it works, and how to build your input section along with a few other snippets including setting input gain in the software. If you have any questions that this video did not answer, please, comment below and the video can be edited to add whatever is missing. Thanks!

Super helpful video! I am Seriously considering buying enough Resonix product in advance of even needing it yet just to not miss any more videos like this and to be a part of the owners group! I feel like then I would finally discover the answer to whether it is possible to do source switching on a DSP Ultra between two digital sources (a coaxial DAP and an optical headunit for nav prompts/phonecalls).

It is possible, but with a small caviat. Join the group and place your request for a video :)

This is beautiful, I've been bummed out about the lack of recent, DSP Tool v5 material out on KZfaq and on the whole web. I got the dsp.3s in August and have been obsessed with tuning, which in turn got me redoing my install, switching my equipment, searching for highest quality source music that still keep my uConnect fuctions in tact, the whole 9 yards. This video is right on time and i hope that there are many more deep dives on v5 planned for the future! Thanks Nick As far as what I'd like to see next, I think a walk-through of the FX options, RealCenter, Augmented Bass, SubXpander and ClarityXpander, and when and why you would choose to use each one would be great. So far I leave most of them on just because its an option, except for RealCenter as i felt it smeared the front stage somewhat, but would love to hear your thoughts on them. Also a runthrough of the ATM, and the TuneEQ would be great, i saw your AutoEQ vid on CAJ back a few years ago, and it seems like TuneEQ is what everyone hoped AutoEQ would be. A demo of that would be cool, then also a demo of you picking your L vs R crossovers, how you choose your electrical filters to match your acoustical target curve, would be sick too.

@@ResoNixSoundSolutions Guess I know what I'll be getting myself for Christmas! I still need to do a CCF+MLV layer, finished the CLD a while back. I've held off on the next step until I could afford to purchase 100% coverage for the MLV as is needed for satisfactory results. Trust me, if money wasn't an issue this car would be 80 lbs heavier already! Resonix looks amazing though, it's been the main thing I've been saving up for for a couple of months now!

Nick, what's the right set up if I only have digital and USB? Disable digital input but route digital to main? I assume the gain input will not be functional then?

Is there any easy way to lower the RCA output voltage from 8v to 5v? Or do you have to use a multimedia and measure the RCA voltage manually whilst adjusting the output gain?

Hi Nick, does the HELIX DSP.3S support virtual channel processing?

Just a heads up with the input voltage (on my DSP.3s). I'm not sure if someone st ATF got peak voltage or some math mixed up, but I actually ended up having my Alpine turned down a few clicks to output 2.8v (yes 2.8rms) and the Helix setting at 2v input. Giving me "full" signal which matches the digital input. No clip light or anything. Super clean signal if I can say so. Just weird about the voltages.

@@ResoNixSoundSolutions I used 0db tracks 1khz I think from DD1 USB and CD. Both put out ≈4vrms from my Alpine 149bt (measured with Liumy Oscope). I couldn't figure out why I was getting a full 0db "blue bar" in the outputs everything set to 0db (with digital input), but my analog input was down like -3 or -6 w the 4v helix setting. After playing w it I discovered if I set it to 2v and had 2.8v from the Alpine (down a few clicks in the alpine settings) I get around 0db matching the digital level. Good because i feel a little uncomfortable having the deck "maxed out" full time. I use conductor as well. screw the director. I can make a video some time if you feel this is concerning (or you don't believe me. ha)

@@ResoNixSoundSolutions Yes, that's what I did for a while. The Analog was +3.3db or something. Maybe it's doing the same thing as adjusting the input sensitivity or maybe not. Either way, it always bothered me. So this is what I discovered and ended up with.

Does this also function as a line out converter, can you use this with OEM radios or high level inputs?

@ResoNixSoundSolutions

@@ericclement9448 The DSP.3 has 6 high-level inputs capable of up to 11 volts of input signal. So yes, it has the ability to integrate into OEM systems. I would leave this exact dsp model to handle systems with no OEM amplifier (radio power), or lower-powered amplifiers. For more advanced OEM systems, you will most likely need a Helix DSP model that can handle more voltage on the input.

That sine wave sign (gain indicator) doesn't illuminate on my dsp.3s wether I increase my headunit to 3/4 of it's max volume and even going on up it doesn't illuminate at all even increasing nor decreasing the gain bar increases volume yes but I just don't know where my signal is at to set the proper gain between headunit and DSP, Help would be greatly appreciated 👍🏿
