Which mask is right for me?
- FFP1, FFP2 or FFP3?
- With or without breathing valve?
- With headbands or ear loops?
- Horizontally, vertically or not folded in a cup shape?
In this video you will learn the properties and advantages of the respective protective masks.
Respirators are part of personal protective equipment (PPE). While FFP1 masks filter around 80% of pollutants from the air, the minimum requirement for FFP2 masks is 94% and for FFP3 masks 99%. Protective masks with a valve make breathing easier, but only offer limited external protection, as infectious agents can pass through the valve to the outside. Masks without a valve protect both the wearer and other people. Respirators that are folded can be stored easily to save space. The cup shape, on the other hand, lies tighter the face and closes better. Protective masks with ear loops are more favourable and easy to put on. However, if you wear it for a longer period of time, we recommend breathing masks with headbands, as these do not press behind the ears.
