Thanks so much . I have been a rt a long time back from the days of IPPB and venta that look like washing machines MA 2 and spitometers that we had to take off and clean. Ultra sonic nebs etc . You get the picture. So in the ever changing world of respiratory we have to constantly study and keep on the changes. The days when tidal volumes of 10 ml per kg was the normal and our patients were on tidal volumes of 800 plus . So wanted to let you know your videos not only help students but also helps rts that have to study hard to keep up with all the changes. Thanks again I love your videos and love the way you teach to make things so easy to understand . You are amazing .

Thank you, Belinda. I remember some of those days too. Maybe not the MA-2, but definitely the old bird machines, etc. I appreciate this comment and your contribution. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Hello I'm currently a respiratory student in Connecticut and with this whole pandemic and our classes and clinical's converting to online It's been challenging to do all this learning at home and with books. Your videos are very helpful I appreciate them so much!! I need to visually see as well as have "what if" situations to be able to understand what I am learning.

Great videos man! Huge fan! I'm a ICU student nurse from the netherlands. Im investigating volumetric capnography, any chance you will be doing that in a future video? Instead of the regular capnography.

Hi there , I am a 2nd semester RT student during this COVID situation trying to learn as much as I can with the technology and virtual classes given. Trying to connect some dots, Is there a way of showing correlation between ETCO2, V/Q mismatch and the left / right chloride shift is there is one?
@RespiratoryCoach
@RespiratoryCoach 4 жыл бұрын
Hello! Strong work seeking out additional information from all technology resources. I will 100% get this done for you soon. Specifically the ETCO2 and V/Q mismatch. Master that first, before jumping into the chloride shift. Stay tuned!

Hi Coach, great channel, I have learned allot from you and enjoy your skillful tutoring, thank you so much!! I have a question about this video - you have illustrated air trapping graph of Etco2 as an inspiratory phase that is not going back to base line. I think it does not make sense, because when the inspiratory phase starts - the inhaled air that is measured by the probe has no CO2 at all, so it should actually drop immediately back to base line at any case... I believe that if it doesn't return to baseline its a calibration problem of the device and not air trapping, the second option as I see it, is re-breathing of expired air which indicates equipment malfunction ... I think that air trapping would manifest as assenting Etco2 values as the trapped air is not ventilated and co2 gets accumulated in the lungs. . What do you think?

can you use capnography on awake non intubated patients? Or do they have to be on NIV? Just trying to visualize it.
