Great explanation/ response Makes me think of the Great book ( The Fourth Turning ) Sometimes it’s not just the impact one generation has on the world but the interactions between generations that impacts the world and which way the world goes. I think the problem in "ok boomer" is when it's used on people who are not actual Boomers. If DCWS is 55/56yo, then he is not a Baby Boomer. He is Generation X. Calling him a "boomer" would be like accusing him of being like his parents, when typically people are antagonistic against the generation that came before them. "Ok boomer" is used in jest, and it's similar to when people used to say "don't trust anyone over 30" during the 1960s. Maybe it's just a new way of calling someone "old-fashioned" no matter what their age, with the origins being the original Baby Boomers.
