Lynn Ngugi

Lynn Ngugi

2 жыл бұрын

When Lizzie Wanyoike left her marriage, the only thing she carried with her was her handbag, car, and Ksh.6 Million in savings.
Today, if anyone was to describe her, they would say, "The CEO of NIBS College, owner of the half-billion Emory Hotel in Kileleshwa, and the advanced Lizzie Wanyoike Preparatory..."
But, Lizzie knows there is so much more to life than money, titles, and properties.
In this episode of inspire global, she takes us through her life growing up in a village to becoming one of Kenya's businesswomen

Being close to 50 years myself, I can say that above 40 years, its hard for a woman to find genuine and healthy male companionship. It can be lonely sometimes but it's better to keep busy with work, our kids and hobbies and other interests than sumbuka with bad relationships. Just build yourself. Our good Lord Jesus never leaves us alone.

Catherine, women above the age of 40 years, have jobs, mostly probably single mothers and who are still open to love and marriage end up meeting mature, grounded companions.( age 40 may sound old for women, but its the best age to get married and settle down). You both enter into a marriage older, wiser and knowing exactly what you both want from that marriage.

When she says: I don’t think I’d remember how to be a wife! That made me so sad! There isn’t one way to be a wife. I hate that being a wife is often confused with being a cook, cleaner, or whatever else! I completely get her hesitation to be married again! She gave 26 years to a man who did not hesitate to dispose her off and left her without anything!!

when you talk about marriage in Kenya the first blow back you get is that i would rather be single than be in a toxic marriage , we equate marriage with all the negatives but i have personally seen people who are so happy together and have achieved more in life as a team, lets not give up on marriage but look for people that we are compatible with.

Lynn, you are such an EXCELLENT interviewer/journalist! You let people tell their stories without subtly or deceptively leading them into what you necessarily want to hear or what you "may" want to affirm. I don't think so too...I think situations are different for everybody....I think companionship is great but just because you don't have it doesn't mean you're incomplete... imagine someone who has been broken over and over and over and you finally decide to be single and find your happiness in your work, your family and your friends. Yes it can get lonely at times but it's better than being with someone just for the hell of it.

I disagree with the single part. First of all, loneliness is a state of mind. I know of people who are married but very lonely and miserable,, while singles are out there building businesses, working on their careers and serving their communities and are deriving a lot joy and fulfillment from that. It's a personal responsibility to make yourself happy before you fing it in an intimate partner. A partner should just come and ADD unto your happiness and not become your 'everything'. But to the marriages that are blossoming,, kudos and good job. But be happy and thrive in your singlehood ☺️.

Being single is just a season and very vital one for every man or woman to grow and discover themselves. When you rush into marriage because being single is too lonely, you might expect divorce cause still you don't know yourself and don't understand what you want in life depending with your age here. So do not be afraid being single, it's better you be single and happy than being miserably married to toxic man. Thanks to our guest of today, I'm inspired by your story. God bless team Lynn ❤️❤️

Yes single life is LONELY and we ladies LIE to ourselves and EACHOTHER that we are FINE and they are okey. We know better deep down. We should be honest.
@fellk119
@fellk119 2 жыл бұрын
A majority of ladies don't lie to themselves, some are actually fine being single and the lonely ones are lonely because they desire and want to be in a relationship but can't find a suitable partner. That's the reality of life, it's generally not easy for most people to find a great match. Being lonely shouldn't be a reason to just be in a relationship or get married to just anyone. That's how people get into and stay in abusive relationships.
