This RESTORATION was a very sentimental one and has a sad story behind it unfortunately. However, I threw my all into this to make it as perfect as i could for my client and the end result definitely brought a smile to his face.

If only the client and his family watch this video it will have been worth doing it, as they can see the love and care you have put into bringing this chair back to life in memory of his brother. Absolutely beautiful. If ever a piece deserved to be restored it's this piece, not only for its sentimental value, but for its decorative value as well. A pair of these chairs at a small table or against a wall will look just lovely. You did a fantastic job all the way round, but particularly with the brass inlay.

I do remember that fabric from a chair project you did previously; I think you also used it on a sewing cabinet/chest. This client must have an exquisite home with these pieces. You've got a great eye for centering and placing the pattern on the chair, too. I wondered how you'd curve the brass inlay, but never thought about heating it. The sound of rain in your workshop is so soothing. In my state of Oklahoma, we have either rain with tornadoes and hail, or just full drought. I envy you the steady rains that the UK seems to have. Daisy made her wiggly appearance with a cork, which makes all of us smile. She's a dear doggie. Thanks for another visit to your shop, and cheers from Oklahoma!!!

A very sad back story 😭. For this man to entrust you with 5 pieces of his furniture for you to restore is a testament of your skills as a Master Crafter. You did a beautiful job, especially in regards to the brass inlay. Another beautiful project. The only furniture restorers I watch are you and Jay, and I was brought to your channel through Jay's when you did the collab. It would be great if you did another collab together but this time with the exact same piece of furniture, for example the exact same chest of drawers or bedside tables and see what each of you come up with. No conferring either 🤣.

I have thought somewhat along the same line. My favorite two "boys" from Britain and two ladies from Canada. The ladies being Angie from Transcend Furniture Gallery and Trena from John's Furniture Repair. 3 self taught and 1,Trena, who had an unofficial apprenticeship helping her father in his workshop. Now all we need is 4 identical or almost identical pieces of furniture in 2 different countries. Should be easy, yes?

I appreciated your explanation at the beginning of this video. The design of the chair didn’t look familiar until you were bending and installing the brass inlay. Your makeshift anvil worked pretty well. I never would have thought of that solution.

I loved your beginning explanation! I hope you do them more often. It’s more of a personable experience than just hearing a voice over, even though I like your voice overs. Always a pleasure to watch.

Beautiful work, as always. While the background that led to this restoration is, indeed, very sad, I'm certain that your customer now can cherish the memory of his brother in a much more positive way. You are a wonderful restorer, and I suppose, one of the prerequisites for doing this kind of work, apart from a great love for it, is a good amount of ingenuity when it comes to solving New situations, such as with bending those brass inlays ... and a willingness to possibly suffer burns on your fingers 😉 Wishing you all the best for 2024, great health and happiness and continued success in everything you endeavor! Another lovely piece! Appreciate your artistry. Also love hearing the rain. I live in a part of the States where we don't get much rain so evan though I love where I live, rain is a pleasant novelty.
