I have the same color and trim on my 86. These videos are very helpful, thanks! Did the door hinge pins this week, next up, refresh the door panels and lube the door handle mechanism.

Did you get a new cargo light or lens or just clean up the one that came off? It looks new. Also, what clips should be used on the door panels? I picked a D150 for a bargin and someone had the door panels on with small screws. I plan to repair the holes, dye the panels and would like to use new clips to install them. Thanks, great video.

Thanks for watching! We did buy a new lens from LMC.com and put an LED light in it, all the clips needed are on LMC. Awesome that you found a great project truck, specifically a dodge. Nice job . Next time after you wash it with soap and water use alcohol or wax and grease remover after and gloves so the oils from your hands don't cause the paint to lift off some time down the road. If it's worth doing it's worth doing right the first time. But glad to see you trying to make them old truck look nice. I'm building a 1991 Ramcharger 4x4 with a 360 and I'm going old school with carb no more computer . But mine was burnt from dash to grill.

Thank! We love these old trucks, we actually did wipe down with contact cleaner to get any oils and residue off, then painted, so far it’s holding up well.

hi again folks! what paint brand and color you guys used? I have the same tan interior on my truck and everyone talks about the SEM color coat...but I don't think they have any color close to the original tan of our trucks

It’s an 87, depends on the truck you have. Are you wanting to restore one or change it for a different panel?

I hate these trucks, I fix one wiring mess. And the next day another starts on fire.

What do you do if your doors are flaking? If I spray them they will continue to flake. It's from the sun and I feel like my only other option is to replace. And I'd like to keep the originals.

@nuzzyfipples we had to remove the panels and use a 220 scotch brite pad and soapy water to prep it. It’s 99% preparation and 1% painting, lol, but they will get the original to where it needs to be to hold the paint. It’s held for over a year on ours.
