What timing! One the my projects on my ‘91 that I was doing tomorrow was the trim parts and have two cans of SEM trim black standing by!!

I had use the black primer and did door handles,all the trim wind shield wiper motor cover ,wiper blade arns and it look like factory.

Just another little tip. Mask off the windows and body panels around the trim before you start sanding. That will save the body panels and glass from any accidental sanding scratches.

I really need to do this on mine. It would make a big difference with the newer paint job.

I used the Sem before, It's pretty good. Now I use Krylon Fusion for plastics in Satin. It works as well and costs so much less. I refinished my F150's trim 5 years ago and it still looks new. It sits uncovered all year in Virginia.

I have a question. I'm currently restoring my Rear window and noticed some excessive amount of rust damage on the Bottom of the window. To my understanding, water, dirt and grime collects there and caused damaged to the paint and metal. Is there any way to fix and prevent that issue?

I’m really curious why you didn’t remove the trim, it seems straightforward. What is the special tool for window trim? I have plastic interior pulling levers in different shapes, would that work?

How do you think it would look to spray the wipers,front and rear window trim and mirrors with a spray gun and gloss black

What grit sand paper did you use?

Wax and grease remover BEFORE sanding to eliminate grinding contaminates into surface. Use 400 grit wet or 600 dry, 800 is too fine for proper mechanical bond. Final wipe down with 50/50 rubbing alcohol/water with lint free rag or towel. Do not touch with hands(oil in skin) after final wipe down. Wax and grease remover will react with some paints causing checking/lifting/bubbling when used for final wipe down before painting. Not trying to be a know-it-all...just trying to give tips on proper procedure.

I understand this video, but the big but..... If you just add a little protection to your molding this would not happen. PM once a month. great how too DIY video. i just cringe when proper PM's are not done.
