This is very helpful and confirms the conclusion I came to myself. Now I understand that I can truly let go of needing to know the definitive answer of the question of the exact nature of my sexual/romantic proclivity.

Wow i cant believe it took me this long to figure this out. This, scrupulosity and just these less cliche symptoms of ocd are EXACTLY what has been torturing me my entire life. Since I was 12 ive been having panic attacks because of my intrusive thoughts about women (same sex) when they first appeared, i was sure that was what i wanted and it felt normal but then i started questioning it and if i was faking it and i guess that led me down a rabbit hole and led to severe anxiety. I never really realized that this was why ive been thinking like this. Thank you so much. Hopefully Ill actually figure this out one day.

It's annoying because I get it with bisexuality. I'm 17 an my whole life I've been attracted to females but you always here these stories about bisexual people never knowing until their later teens. I used to get really bad intrusive thoughts about murdering like close family members but I've overcome that because I know It's absolutely not what I ever dream of doing. But like now I get thoughts of being with my best friend (same sex) and it makes me really anxious but it just feels so real and I cant really see girls or my friend the same way right now. The way I overcame the violent thoughts was just to let them fizzle and go but like I knew deep down I wasn't psycho but with sexuality it's like a spectrum and you never know.

Ugh I have the same thoughts. Sometimes it's hard to separate thoughts and feelings. It's making me more confused. I hope with time you will feel attraction to girls again.

THIS RIGHT HERE!! I’m a straight female and I’ve always been attracted to boys but I have intrusive thoughts like “what if I’m actually a lesbian” or “what if I never fall in love”. Falling in love is something I’ve always wanted to experience since I was a little kid. Also I’ve been in love before with a BOY. These thoughts creep up on me on any way they can (mainly from past experiences). Ocd is truly horrible to deal with and I’ve dealt with it on and off my whole life. I’ve also had different themes with it too. Ik its scary to go through and I pray that we will all get through this

Intrusive simply means they go against who you are, they’re not wanted. They don’t have to be “disgusting” You can simply hate the thought and don’t want these thoughts. Your not gonna simple throw up every time you have a thought.. that would be a lot of throw up. When I get these thoughts, I hate them I don’t like them and don’t want them at all. But one things for sure is I know they don’t define who I am. But I’m not always thinking “oh do I find it disgusting”? No. I just simply don’t want these thoughts.. I don’t like these thoughts 1 bit. They’re distressing and they go against who I am it’s pretty simple. I’ve seen you comment in many Hocd videos. Hope you get better. Just quick tip. Thoughts don’t make you this or that.. are brain makes up of ANYTHING. Our brains are seperated from who we actually are as a person..and thoughts don’t make a person homosexual . Actions do. Just like someone with harm ocd I can have a thought of hurting someone.. doesn’t make me a bad or a killer.. but what will define me is my actions if I proceed to hurt someone or kill someone. Good luck.

I really find this video really misinforming! If people would know for sure that it’s „just ocd“ they wouldn’t be worried, the thing is that even the diagnosis is doubted and you have to learn to sit with the uncertainty that it couldn’t be ocd 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

@RatsAreNice222

that is the problem. You see unless it doesnt bring you a lot of anxiety, that you cant do anything else, or really its bothering you a lot. If it doesnt bring you anxiety, you probably just got intrusive thoughts. And yet that still DOESNT mean its true. OCD just makes you obsessed with it. If you are able to brush away those thoughts, and put no meaning behind it, that means you probably just got a thought, and it doesnt matter. But someone who has OCD is more like, the anxiety never stops, and there is nothing else.
