Restoring A Super Giant Wood Sawing Machine // Extremely Refined Skill Of The Craftsman
"Hi all.Welcome to the channel: Restoration Products! In this episode we found a classic wood-cutting saw, very big and heavy. and no longer works. We worked hard for many days. I did my best to show all the work and I am sure that my method will be improved in future videos. I think all the hard work on this project will get this saw to work again. Our mission is to entertain and give you the opportunity to discover forgotten tools. Please subscribe to my channel so you don't miss anything.
Thanks for watching and supporting me.
I really appreciate this! Thanks a lot!!!

Great work I enjoy watching you, but are you cheating the customer, putting dirty oil in a clean motor?

It looks like some of the motor windings were burnt out. You must get an electrician to test all the motors. Also remove the paint from the windings and if they are dark or black the entire motor must be rewound. Maybe that is why the machine was scrapped. Any electric motor that is fitted to older machines need to be tested properly. Please be very careful any signs of heat in a motor will cause that blackening.

@@restorationproduct1718 The good thing was the main motor looked very good. Another thing that should be done don't use plastic tape. I only use cloth based tape. You can unwind that plastic tape far too easily. I had to remake a connection after 6 months and the cloth tape had to be cut off. (I have found some plastic tape where the adhesive has failed.) The adhesive on it really binds really well to the tape underneath The adhesive on the overwound section welds to the cloth underneath. Much safer. Also any joins should be wound together and soldered. Cut any excess wire and solder off to make it a neat join. Solder makes a good join and prevents any surges when the motor starts from causing corrosion and bad connections. Then pull the heatshrink tube over the join with a good 2-3 cm each side. Then heat it so it shrinks and secures the join. That will then be safe and look tidy as well. Always put the heatshrink on before joining the wires. I am watching your videos so if I can help I will.
