Bringing life back to very weathered teak bench. This was a free cleaning we did after noticing the bench when we were soft washing the roof. It only took a few minutes to make a stunning transformation. www.CleanPowerWash.com 410-251-0928 Serving Salisbury, MD and most of Delmarva

I think your opinion of "low pressure" is very different than most
@Frindleeguy
@Frindleeguy 6 жыл бұрын
socalmx255 No, it's bang on. The tip he was using is referred to as a "low pressure" tip. Where you're probably confused is the machine he was using was not your typical 2.7-3.5 gpm homeowners special. Pressure vs flow. Huge difference.
@Cleanpowerwash
@Cleanpowerwash 6 жыл бұрын
socalmx255 I agree that it was a little more psi then ideal. However the lichen and roots required more psi then truly "soft wash" it was still well below 1k. Choked ball valve and oversized tips to reduce psi and maximize flow.
@icwiz
@icwiz 6 жыл бұрын
I think socalmx255 meant from a layman's perspective. If you don't know power washers, like me, then you don't know all the different pressure levels you can have in these things.

In CT back in 2010 I bought a homemade trailer built in 1960! It was covered in algae and had just been sitting for years. I bought it for $100 and the seller even threw in a brand new set of lights and wiring.I PRESSURE WASHED it so well that I was able to actually get paint to last on it. The sides and bottom were pressure treated plywood...50 years old. I kept that trailer and used it until 2019 when I traded down to a smaller car and that trailer was too big for it. I sold it for $425...I did put 2 tires and a spare on it which cost about $120 mounted and balanced at Economy Tire in Macon. They were full size car tires. I also use my pressure washer on throw rugs, patio furniture that I got for FREE because it was so dirty, including the cushions (which came out like new). Every once in a while, I use it to mist shrubs in me yard. I never find a need for detergents. I even used it to tunnel under a sidewalk so that I could run a garden hose out to my rear yard permanently. Of course, brick and sidewalk and driveway washing are done using it also.

I just got done properly sanding and refinishing a couple wood high chairs previously pressure washed the year before. They were tossed out back within a few months due to mildew growth in the grain. I sanded them, wiped with water to raise the grain, filled cracks, re-glued a couple joints, tightened screws, stained, light sand, stained again, then 2 coats of spar urethane. I promise they won't have mildew growing next year. That was restoring. Yes the labor would be more than a new chair but it was a nice gesture for a friend who owns a business plus he rather save some wood in the process. It was nice of you but I wouldn't want my teak bench pressure washed like that if I were the homeowner. To each their own. I soft wash wood for my clients. I use the heavy-duty pressure washer for concrete and metal

Teak wood washes ip real nicely. Our community science center has these benches also and I've sanded down three so far and dismantled the seat slats and remounted them with stainless steel screws. Original brass alloy flat head , old style slotted screws were for the birds 🐦. And chewing gum was stuffed in more than one screw location as well. Oil base deck stain/sealer brings it up to snuff.
