This brief scene from GoldenEye's pretitles sequence was apparently cut quite late, presumably to help with pacing. This edit restores the scene to where I believe it was in the original cut. I've added some of Eric Serra's score and reworked the score accompanying the released scenes. I've also changed some of the foley sound (both released and unreleased) to work a little better with this edit. Finally, I fixed the aspect ratio to match GoldenEye's, as the deleted scenes are presented in a weirdly squashed ratio for no apparent reason...!
Overall, I really like this version and wish it was how it was in the final cut. It's a little slower, but has a disturbing, almost slasher-esque feel which establishes this film up as tonally quite different from its predecessors from the beginning.
The footage sadly suffers from the same quality issues as the Tomorrow Never Dies deletes scenes which I've been restoring, though for different reasons. While the TND scenes are low quality digital versions (presumably for editing, as TND was edited on AVID), the GoldenEye scenes are film scans from stock which, while noticeably more HD than the TND scenes, has presumably degraded over time - hence the dust, scratches etc. I've done some basic cleanup to try and make things look a little better, but haven't even attempted to try repairing the footage properly. Unfortunately, this is way out of my expertise area!
