The innermost secret. Thanks for producing these videos. Keeping the flame and the spirit alive. Watching these presentations is like being an apprentice to a master. Thank you!

Rather than prise out the clock a much easier way is to remove the small copper circlip at the end of the shaft holding the most significant dial in place. You can then slide each number along and rotate it. Once they are in the sequence you want. push them back together and replace the circlip.

H Peter. I got my faces from Image Works also. Reasonable price (considering I ordered 2 sets, and he sent 3). Also included water temp faces, but the temp gauge face has raised markings. Do you replace the face on the temp gauge? I'm guessing you could remove the raised areas on the face before placing the sticker. Cheers from Australia, Mike.

Hi Mike If the temp gauge has the raised markings I carefully cut out the red and blue boxes and stick them onto the corresponding raised areas on the temp gauge after carefully cleaning the face Just changing those 2 areas really makes the gauge look fresh 😁

Thanks Peter. So, you just stick on the red and blue bits, and leave the rest? The face is actually pretty good apart from the faded red and blue.

I have seen a lot of restorers using acetone to clean and revive the rubber gaskets. Do you recommend that? Do you use silicone as well?

Hi, that's really helpful, mines a J model so plastic instead of glass and no metal ring so a bit tricky to get apart. Can you tell me where you obtain the new guage faces, mine are very faded. ?
