Is there any way to balance without a set of vacuum gauges? On my old K model, I would pull 2 plug leads off, and set the idle at 1250rpm on 1 cylinder, then repeat for the other 2. After putting all three leads back on, I'd wind the idle adjustment back equally on each carb to get idle at 1250.
@DOC19581

Thank you Peter. Took me 30 min to do all 3 carbs today. The thread cut under the choke mechanism is a bit shallow, but the Helicoils still seated far enough. If it was a bottoming tap, it would be no problem. Replaced the top screws with Allen head cap screws, just waiting for new pistons and diaphragms.

@DOC19581 I cut down a tap for the 1 hole under the choke, I go in As deep as I can with the full tap, then go back with the cut off tap to cut the thread all the way !

I have a 1977 gt750 and it is complete. When i was 20 the crank seals went and i had som issues with the clutch beeing extremely hard. Also i got water leaking to the gearbox. I took the engine out and started on some of the work but i ren out of money😂. Later on, i had to move, and it ended up in boxes at my fathers place. Now i am 32 years old, have my own house i have a garage with a motorcycle lift and everything. With your videos i start to build up the confidence to make up with my past and fix my old friend once for all😅. Thanks for the videos Peter.🎉

Hello hello! What if... I have older version of the Gt750 crank cases, it does not have o-ring holding for the water cooling line between cranks. Also area is much smaller in the upper case so even if i make o-ring holding place to bottom case, the upper case will not touch whole area of the o-ring. Any suggestions?

The neutral light wire is nothing whatsoever to do with the Accent electronic ignition !
@jefftaylor1974
@jefftaylor1974 2 ай бұрын
While I agree that the neutral light is not associated with the ignition system, the North American GT750J came with a 4-wire ignition loom. The black, white and black/yellow wires are for the ignition plate, and blue wire has a pigtail which connects to the neutral switch underneath the engine. I simply had to run a separate blue wire alongside the new Accent wiring loom up to the plug behind the side cover. Neutral light works now. :)

I'm a bit surprised the head bolts/studs don't call for some Silicone or Antiseize compound on the threads to get a more accurate torque.
@suzukigt750idiot
@suzukigt750idiot 4 ай бұрын
The studs that the head bolts screw down onto are of course well greased before the cylinder block goes over them this is for 2 reasons, 1 to protect against corrosion and 2 to allow easy installation of the head bolts !
