Time seems to move quite slowly in my rural home. The animals take their time to feed and build their nests just right, the plants to grow to full bloom, I felt inspired to make a video on it ... this is just a little insight on what a ‘morning or evening routine’ is for me, since I don’t really adhere to a routine at all. As someone who likes to make everything productive, it can be a greater challenge to simply not plan a day and let the season, weather, and how I feel to determine what I do or don’t get done. Productivity is not the goal for me, simply to enjoy being. Disconnecting from the ticking clock definitely helps, and realizing that minutes and hours are a product of our own making, and we can let time management be as important or unimportant as we wish 🤍 of course, we all need to work and be productive in many ways, but I do think there is much worth in letting go of your own expectations from time to time.

For the majority of the week I work, and have limited time to spend how I wish. But on days off I am able to follow a routine of sorts (if I can even call it that), and that is to spend my time with the intention of being only as productive or unproductive as my heart desires. As someone who always wants to add on more work and things to accomplish in my day, I force myself to start and end the day with no expectations. Maybe it is a day to putter about my house, paint random panes of glass, and wander outdoors. Maybe it’s a day to eat peanut butter toast and hide under blankets for 10 hours 🤍 Here’s a common question I wish to answer: “can you do a what-I-eat-in-a-day video?” I get this question a lot and am aware that I am, again, not sharing my daily meals in this video. Over a decade ago, as a young teenager, I remember first logging on to the then ‘new’ world of KZfaq. I was often recommended videos on specific diets and ‘what-I-eat-in-a-day’ vlogs. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these videos and that, for the most part, they are meant for those looking for fun recipes and meal prep ideas. Due to personal experiences, I do not showcase what I eat daily because I would never want my diet to be an example that a very young person should ever feel they need to emulate in order to achieve health (it’s also very boring, a lot of pasta and porridge.... and potatoes...lol). I will always enjoy sharing fun recipes and occasional meals, but I wish to step away from showcasing my daily diet as a source of content, since I there are few if any diets that suit all bodies, conditions, and circumstances. ➡️Again, I know this is not the intention of ‘what-I-eat-in-a-day’ videos, they have an enormous positive influence on so many people, and definitely watch them if you love them! ⬅️ This is simply why I will refrain from making such a video. But I will continue to share favorite recipes, snacks, and many herb and nature inspired dishes! Since I love to cook and bake❤️ Warm Regards, Paola

I hurt my brain during the Iraq war. Coming to grips with an invisible injury that has limited me in every aspect of life has been beyond excruciating to put it kindly. Every day I try to honor my boundaries and not tear myself apart for just laying in bed, as that is often all I am capable of. Through the use of psychedelics/plant medicine, studying Toltec wisdom and the Buddhist teachings, I have found a deep understanding of life and a profound sense of meaning. Even armed with this knowledge I struggle. To see you succeeding at the very ideas I am trying to implement in my own life, the psychological process of being ok with time and actually living, finding peace from the programming, staying present...it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for the inspiration. 🙏❤️

I want to say another thing as well... on this specific topic, I feel that in today’s world, especially when you live in a big city - and for me I still live in the busy capital city. - people these days almost compete with who can be the busiest! Even time off has to be filled with social events and scheduled activities and going going going. Now I may be an introvert , so that life tires me anyway, but I have always felt that me “waisting my time away” in others eyes, compared to their hectic life, is something I’ve always found an accomplishment. Haha I don’t want to be living in a state of always chasing. I’m enough as I am. What I have. Like you once said Paola, the future is important but it shouldn’t be your holy focus every waking hour to create that future. Because truly the best days of my life is when I disappear into a world of my own making and if someone were to ask me what I’d been doing , they’d think “that’s it?” Haha. But to me those days of your inner child coming to life and just being, are the days that make life beautiful to me.

The matter of " time" reminds me of this saying about a river. If I can recall...There is no rushing a river, when you go there, you go at the pace of the water. That pace ties you into a flow, that is older than life on this planet. Acceptance of that pace, even for a day, changes us. Reminds us other rythyms beyond the sound of our own heartbeat. I choose to live my life with the flow of the river.

Paola gives me so much joy and calm.... She reminds me how my poetry helps me find peace and calm and maybe it'll help others too and therefore i should not give up on my tiny poetry channel, even though it might not grow as fast as I had hoped... Good things take time❤

I've been in therapy for the past four months and one of the things I had to relearn is to do things more slowly, thus I had the feeling I wasted my time. I first it was hard but now it is one of the most valuable things I learned. Now I praise myself for sometimes 'wasting time', whilst it actually is appreciating the moment!

When I''m out in nature the beauty and perfection of Mother Nature is often too much for me to process. How does one take in such vast magic? This is the answer: moment by moment. Slowly, thoughtfully and fully present. Continue sharing your wisdom.🌻🐝

Your videos are such a refreshing contrast to so much of what is on KZfaq and in all forms of media in general. Watching and listening to you has a physical effect upon me, like the presence of a contented, purring cat in my lap. I can feel my heart rate decrease, my respiration slow, and a sense of calm reflection gently push aside the cares and anxieties of the day. I look forward to enjoying more of the gifts of your channel. Thank you so much.

At nearly 60 years of age, I have been, and still often am, a Master at being a "Human Doing," but the last 15 years I have grappling with becoming a Master at being a Human Being. Our society in the USA has disconnected us in some ways from remembering that we simply need to just "be." I am only speaking for myself and my life journey, but being in the moment, this moment, instead of in the past, in my head or in the future is where contentment can be found. I fail at "being" almost daily but perhaps in time it will be the majority of my day instead of just a few minutes here and there. Thanks for this wonderful reminder of the joy in just "being."

Your videos are so relaxing. Here's some more time-related advice for anyone who wants it. Don't spend your on useless things (and no school is not useless), spend your time on what makes you happy and what will set you up for success; spend less time worrying about what was and start thinking about what you want to happen because everything that happened in the past shaped who you are today and who you will be tomorrow. Much love to everyone during these difficult times where everything seems to blend together and things are becoming more and more difficult💖💖 You got this!!

Sometimes, what you experience, takes your breath away. You can't say much. You capture what you can, while you can. It's "breath-taking". That is what I just experienced. All I can say, is, "Wow!"

Couldn't agree more. Sometimes, doing nothing could be the most productive thing one can do. Based on experience, just being still and gazing at nothingness from time to time brings out more creative ideas and allows visualization of what would eventually prove to be one of many personal and professional successes. God bless you, Paola, in all your endeavors. Thank you for sharing yourself with the rest of us.

This is one of the best unproductive days, filled with so many activities, I’ve ever seen. What a fabulous nothing day to unwind. And you play the violin, too?! My, your talents are endless! My days are, unfortunately, quite routine, boring and basically, Groundhog Day. When I do get time away from work, I’ve got a personal to do list, filled with chores, a mile long. Still, I’m the worlds greatest procrastinator and can completely waste a full day doing nothing at all being a couch potato, leaving me mad at myself for wasting it. I aspire to spend off days similar to yours, but they rarely seems materialize.

Once again you hit the spot! Just being is sooooo hard to do. It is the Puritanical work ethic that is engrained in our society that we don’t even acknowledge or understand and yet accept. I have been retired for 3 years and I am just beginning to realize that it’s ok to just ‘be’. Thank you for reminding us we are empowered to just have moments, a day or whatever to just ‘be’.

Paola, you did it again, bringing up a subject so seldom admired, so often forgotten, ....like the art of doing nothing or go in the direction of your nose. Everyone should have the possibility to now and then, take this path, ...with no pressure, no time limit, ...just watching and admire the nature in all its aspects. Daydreaming....is the best remedy. And you manage to learn us all. Thanks again
