Thank you for posting the video. I straightened the reticle in a 3-9x40 Gamo air rifle scope. I also noticed that the reticle moved very easily. Once I adjusted the reticle, I applied a small drop of nail polish to a spot on the threads. I used a small screwdriver as an applicator.
@ammopig54045 жыл бұрын
Awesome. Glad it helped
@greg61624 жыл бұрын
Nice, why the nail polish...Does it act like loctite to keep it from moving?

not just cheap scopes, if you go to an online retailer and read reviews of most any scope with at least 50 reviews youll find that 5 to 6% of all reviews (including major brands) are 1 star reviews with reticle/zero issues.
@crazytestpilot13806 жыл бұрын
The reticle is part of the variable power zoom tube and needs to move with it as you adjust your turrets so you wouldn't want to glue it to the scope tube(not sure if that's what you did or not). If you remove the allen bolt on the zoom adjust ring you will find 3 small screws that keep the zoom tube and reticle in a fixed orientation. Rremove those screws and the tube can be removed making the reticle more accessible for service. Thanks for the vid. Nice to see people who aren't afraid of getting into the nuts and bolts of things to figure stuff out.

You might want to mention the tiny screw you need to loosen on the bottom so the eye piece will screw all the out.. thanks for help mine is fixed.

thanks a ton man, i really needed this as i was absolutely terrified about losing my scope, i expect some issues in the future as the rifle i use is a well known scope breaker, already put 300 shots through the scoped gun and didn't encounter any issues yet and i hope it stays this way.

You might of had barrel droop meaning you had to exceed the elevation. There are lot of videos on the inside of scopes showing why you need good spring tension on both sides of the elevation dial. You’ll know when it gets mushy and looses its tactile feel. Reset the scope and remount. You might just need a new scope especially if it’s a cheap one. To prevent this get a barrel droop compensator from UTG. Pretty much all break barrels have this issue, some more than others.

So those lines below the cross hairs aren’t normal? I just bought a rifle with a scope one it mine is doing the same thing so that means the scope moved ? 🤷♂️
@ammopig54043 жыл бұрын
The lines in the retical below the center crosshairs are elevation holdover. Say if your scope is sighted in at 50 yards and youre shooting out to 100 yards, you line up on a lower line. Which line is dependent on if the scope is quality, for that caliber and not broke. Hope that helps
@8899768893 жыл бұрын
Thank you for explaining this. I have a vortex a cross fire that does have those. I thought maybe the scope was messed up
@peacegonmei30833 жыл бұрын
Sir, I bought new but field of view is very small, suggest me to make a larger view
@ammopig54043 жыл бұрын
Field of view is dependent on the scope itself. Nothing I know of will change that on a scope.
@Aviator1685 жыл бұрын
What tool did you use to rotation the reticle back?

Just a toothpick. Mine had a void between the ends of a ring. I just played with it til it was close enough.
