After retiring from a lifelong career working as transit drivers, Doug and Mindy decided to live in a transit coach bus! They purchased an old bus at an auction, and they converted the coach bus themselves. It's completely off-grid, with an impressive amount of solar on the roof. In this episode, they take us on a detailed tour of their home on wheels.

Back in the late 70s, my dad bought a bus to remodel it (he had done it in the early 70s to a van). We all thought it was such a crazy idea. Before he could start the work, he got early onset Alzheimer’s. He was a man before his time. ❤. He would have loved to have seen this. Looks so nice.😊

What a cute couple plus their Yorkie dog. I love the fact they have regular house furniture in their home. How cool that they both drove buses as well. So much storage under the belly. Love 💗 everything about this.

I met my friends Doug and Mindy in the Arizona desert. They made friends with my Father years prior. Doug and Mindy came around me when I was in Arizona for my father's passing. He helped me in so many ways from walking 8 miles into the desert beside me with and without words, mechanical work on my father's 1956 bus conversion and making introductions with another bus conversion that was also headed back to The Pacific Northwest when I brought my Mother and the beloved bus across the country back home for my fist long bus drive. Doug the next year "stopped over" as Seattle WA is apparently just another bus stop between baha mexico and P.E.I. if you get the chance to meet them i hioe you fall in love with this couple ad much as my family has. Doug and Mindy are great with kids but dont let doug teach your kids how big the fish was (face slap)😅 we sure hope to host them at our place anytime.

You get to travel with the love of your life together in retirement.You appear to be healthy, happy, young at heart, and content. You both are resourceful, talented, and hardworking. and smart. Beautifull! Love this conversion... So homy feeling. Iam a bus driver and I think it will be hard to separate from bus in retirement so I think this is a beautifull way to stay active and live with joy. Wish you good and peaceful roads!

We actually have a lady who teaches Sewing in our town, and the little girls are loving it. I think there’s been a few boys in the class as well. I have been working with my granddaughter on embroidery. she loves sewing and needlework

THIS IS THE BEST BUS TO RV CONVERSION I HAVE EVER SEEN. DOUG IS A GENIUS AT KNOWING HOW TO DO SOMETHING IN A THRIFTY MANNER, AND MINDY KNOWS HOW TOOK COOK, AND SEW TOGETHER THIS IS THE PERFECT HOME. I WOULD HONESTLY RATE THIS TINY RV HOME A 9.5 OUT OF 10. THEY ARE CANADIAN AS WELL ❤🇨🇦👍👏👏👏👏

What a wonderful couple. Mindy is so talented. Mindy's abilities go way beyond the common. She has superior talent. I have never seen such skill in both quilting and embroidery before. That hand stitched star quilt is amazing. She also has phenomenal patience to work on something continuously for 4 years. Plus the fact that Doug taught himself how to understand and repair bus engines - well I admire people who self teach and are tenacious enough to pursue areas they have not previously been trained to tackle. They are having a wonderful retirement together. They are truly lucky they found each other. You can tell by the way they interact that there is a great deal of love between them. I wish them many more years of adventures and love together.

My jaw dropped when he said their bus is 45 feet long. It's the longest home on wheels I've seen yet. They have proven they are lacking in nothing with the home they've created.

My grandmother taught me to sew. She sewed everything and made money with her sewing. I’m not that good . But I do enjoy sewing. I hand sew mainly. Enjoyed the video! ❤️💜💚

Doug and Mindy are fabulous people and I am so very glad to know them. Their bus is beautiful and walking into it you feel like it is home. One of these days we will hopefully have the privilege of touring with them into Mexico. Or Canada where their home is. Who knows where to mobile life will take them next. PS... Helllllooooo Zorro!
