The thought of retirement makes me cry. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you weren't to blame for.it's especially difficult for people who are retired.

True, It has never been easier to understand how to build your money after retirement than it is right now with the inflation, when you may study and experience a completely variegated market passively by employing a successful portfolio-advisor. The impacts of the U.S. dollar's gain or fall on investments, in my opinion, are complex.

Even if you’re not skilled, it is still possible to hire one. I was a project manager and my personal portfolio of approximately $850k of my retirement pension took a big hit in April due to the crash. I quickly got in touch with a financial-planner that devised a defensive strategy to protect and profit from my portfolio this red season. I’ve made over $250k since then.

I shuttle between Singapore and Johor for my retirement. Both countries have advantages and disadvantages. When in Malaysia i would go road trip to melaka, kl, and genting. Thanks for all the good info regarding retirement living in Malaysia. You mentioned that there are many golf courses in Johor in this video. I retired this past June and enjoy playing tennis a lot and was wondering if there are any country clubs in Johor with tennis courts? I just returned home to the USA a few days ago after spending 5 weeks in Malaysia. I visited KL, Penang, Ipoh, and Malacca in search of a place where I like to retire. Of these places, Malacca was my favorite because it had the best air quality, and the neighborhood I stayed in (Bali Residences) is newer.

Thanks again for your videos, and amidst the stressful life in SG, i look forward to someday retiring in MY. Cheers!

The scenario you are asking about : we are aware that there are Singaporeans who practice this scenario. There was even an article that came out in CNA in 2021 about a man who sold his Ripple Bay penthouse, bought a HDB for his wife & kids and he himself moved to JB and lived in a rented house as a form of solitude for himself.

Yes, Penang is cheaper. Feel free to check out our Penang cost of living and retirement vidoes. Recommendations : Beach : Batu Feringgi. You can spend a day at the various resort beaches as a day guest. Park Royal, Golden Sands, Lone Pine, Rasa Sayang are all highly recommended. Art mural at Georgetown : spend a day exploring Georgetown and hunt for art murals scattered all along the town area. Start early in the morning as its less hot. Food : You must try the hawker food in Penang! It's truly the best in Malaysia. There are many coffee shops & hawker centres around the entire Penang island. Penang Hill : spend a lovely cooling day up Penang Hill. Lots to do see and eat. Pm us once u are in Penang. If our dates match, we would love to meet you

My piece of advice to everyone : Never retire or plan to retire in Life. Keep doing some or the other thing. Alternate to retirement is shorter hours at the job as you grow old. The moment you retire your body starts getting into hibernation mode deactivating all immune systems thereby giving a free pass to many diseases.

Chicken chop 23 dollars is expensive, given the quarter chicken cost only RM$3.125 (Whole Chicken RM12.50) in Malaysia RM$15.80 is the ideal price. Stir Fried a bit plain. At least for visual, should have choy sum, more fat bean sprout, few big prawns and egg on top. Beehoon should be a bit more darker (dark soy sauce)

I only return to my Malaysia condo to clean n mop place n pay condo bills n water n electricity bills ! I rented a place in Thailand, if I decide to buy SG HDB again I have to surrender foreign property can’t have both at same time SG HDB law ! can only buy private property in SG ! all the stress packing n unpacking n Malaysia title deed! Cheap the food may be, but what abt the quality of the food, the ingredients used? I'm not talking abt "wah the food has got good wokhey" kinda quality (with MSG and deep frying, all food can taste sedap), but rather, the quality of say for eg - sourdough breads and real tiramisu with alcohol. Are they easily available there? #talkingtomyself In retirement, is "cheap" and "food" the only considerations? One may have a lower cost of living, but must the quality of life be compromised at the same time? I am of the opinion that MOST of the creme of Msia are already working in SG - be it service, FNB etc etc. If I'm craving for fatty blue fin tuna sushi there, is it easily available? haha

Go Japan for that! Haha! We love travelling to the place of origins for the real thing. However that being said, a lot of foreigners flock to Johor to eat restaurant food. The restaurant food quality is as KL standards for certain foods. Now, you watch one of our videos on food comparison between Singapore and Malaysia, we did cover the points on quality, value etc etc.

just a thought..you Singaporeans are spoiling the property market for locals who may not have the same earning power as you all.I really dislike how Melaka is spoilt becausof Singaporeans wanting to live and play there as a result more developments have taken place which do not fit the asthetic of Melaka town. I cant hardly see some of the historical sites like I used to because of the big-ass constructions taking place. Melaka no longer holds the authentic old world charm it used to have, its quite sad for a Malaysian like myself to witness. :( especially when I return for visits from overseas

All boils down to demand and supply. On the flip side, with more tourists (regardless of nationality), tourism is booming which means more money into the state which then gives more employment opportunities to the locals. Every country ideally wants to attract lots of tourism to boost their economy. The price to pay, of course, will be that things will no longer look, feel and be the same anymore. Even yourself as you shared, are living overseas for better opportunities. Everything needs to progress, otherwise it stagnates and dies.
