Moved form CT to Beaufort and LOVE it here! MUCH cheaper than living in CT. Life is so much easier and the weather is a hundred times better.

@@lowcountrylifestyles I was in the Canton/Avon area. My coosunulivescin Old Saybrook, it's nice there. Still like SC much better! Only thing I miss is the Italian food and Fenway park trips, besides my friends and family.

I just got off the phone with Mr. Banon, and low and behold he told me that you need to have 70% down to qualify for this program. This is nothing more than a good old fashioned bait and switch. To be fair he answered all my questions but the fact is he gave misinformation on the figures. Take it for what you will.

My primary home is in NJ. My wife and I built a house in Horry county in 2021. 4bd/2ba on a half acre lot. We payed $215,000 with an interest rate of 3%. We only had to put down 15%.Our payment with property taxes is about $1400 a month. My NJ is worth around $600,000 and is payed off, we just pay utilities and property taxes. Property taxes in NJ are obscene, ours are currently $850 monthly 😡. This HEMC sounds too good to be true, there’s always a catch. But if it does work for some people, god bless! 👍🏼

This sounds to good to be true. If it is true then you need to expand this topic more. Why would a retired person want to buy more home (750K) when all they need is a 200k ranch? Especially in retirement. You should give clear examples. There is clearly some details you are leaving out. This does not smell right.

Just because it’s “Government approved” doesn’t necessarily make it a good idea. It seems like a win win for the LENDER with 50% equity in the home to start & protection if home values tank.

Yeah, it may not be a good idea for everyone. I’m sure different financing options are better for some and not others.

Sounds too good to be true. What’s the catch? Would prefer to know what it is upfront without talking to another mortgage company. Just talked to at least 7 of them and never heard of it.

Lots of drawbacks: high fees, plus no value to pass on to heirs. It’s not common to loose the house completely. If the mortgage company decides you aren’t maintaining it correctly, they can take it. You could be upside down if you decide to sell. They changed the name from “reverse mortgage “ because of all the negative press about reverse mortgages. Don’t do it.

I believe they offer these everywhere, but I’m not sure where all Brian is licensed. If you reach out to him, I’m sure he can put you in the right direction in your state.
