The Minecraft Survival Guide continues! Today we custom build a forest mansion for all my legacy villagers to 'retire' to, so we can focus the next few tutorials on getting the most out of Minecraft 1.14.4's villagers!
The series will teach you how to master Survival Mode, and will also be my Single Player Let's Play series!

In all seriousness, I think you should make a playlist of just time-lapse + music videos. Your camera work and editing are just so wonderful, I want to put it on loop in the background. (Not saying stop the Survival guide, by any means! I'd just love to see your "music videos" as stand alones also)

You can use the two Zombie Villager to inoculate new Villagers for better prices, and extend the rail closer to their new workstations so they pathfind to them easier. Spot on video and great build!

How nice idea, I love the build. Remember that Villagers don't know how to use fence gates, so that is one option to stop them from wondering around

Can't wait to see the finished interior. That place looks amazing. I could watch you build all day long my dude. I have no architectural knowledge, or a single bit of artistry in my body. So I usually build underground houses or in the sides of mountains etc. My interiors aren't terrible. But I could never build a building like that. Its art my dude. Great job.

I’d probably use the as bait for a zombie xp farm and not care too much about their safety. Then when that one dies I bring in another one.

rails for door seems so unnecessarily risky, i use an iron door and it leaves no room for doubt that something might happen. just throw on an iron door and a button on each side and you are good. the villagers cant open it and nothing will attack them through it. :)

Wow! Amazing job on a Villager "Retirement House", very pleasing to eye! I like the usage of prismarine bricks as sort of oxidized copper rooftops. At least that's what I think about it when I see it. Great video, love the timelapses :)

ProContrast I think he said something in a previous video that basically meant there weren’t enough bells that he could find so he uses gold blocks. I might be wrong though.

I'm so glad 'villager retirement home' wasn't a euphemism. I started playing Minecraft after I bought it for my kids, but TBH I prefer watching you play it to doing all that work myself! Love your style, adults can enjoy your channel and my kids like it too.

I love the different block choices, I would never have put dark prismarine in a dark oak build, but it really gives the build life, I know you said you’d never join hermitcraft, just know that you are talented enough to be on there, also great work on the recap

Hey pixl, when you get done putting together your new trading hall you should consider doing a full "what can you accomplish using only villagers" type episode, where you go from being completely ungeared to having a full set of perfectly enchanted diamond armor and tools, a perfectly enchanted diamond sword, a couple of buckets courtesy of fishermen, a ton of lights courtesy of Librarians, and some blocks for building courtesy of stonecutters, and then I think you should consider making a commemorative structure regarding the whole villager thing using only the blocks you can acquire via villagers. Would make for a neat sort of "Mini playlist" within the context of the survival guide series.

Apparently there is a machine that loads chunks in a specific way by flying over them, and it can generate dungeons high up in the sky. Could be useful for getting loot and making mob farms.

You could turn this into a gated retirement center with lit walking paths and eventually the villagers will hire their own iron orderlies which helps with security.

Hey Pixl, quick feedback on the door. You could have put fence posts in the ground and covered them with carpet, which would keep both villagers and baddies where they needed to be.

Reminds me of the prisoner from The Hunchback of Notre Dame movie. Villager as he’s taken out of the trading hall: “I’m free! I’m free!” Villager after he gets moved to the ‘retirement home’ and sees the rails that prevent him from leaving: “Dang it!” Lol!

Pixl, first off I absolutely love your channel. You make, what are in my opinion, the best Minecraft videos I’ve seen. I so much appreciate you and your fantastic commentary and build style. I’ve learned so much from you. That being said, I have one critique. PLEASE PLEASE make some more one chunk videos! I love using those to dot little buildings around my town while my creativity is low! You have some amazing builds and I love the step by step tutorials. I know the survival guide takes up most of your time but I just can’t get enough of the one chunk builds but I equally love the survival guide. I’ve watched them all in order and I believe I’m on episode 134. Thanks for the amazing content and best wishes mate! Happy mining!

A really good and pretty way you can use to wall the ai of villagers is to use double carpets with the bottom layer one block lower, and the top layer flush with the surface of the floor. It's prettier than using rails and villagers won’t be able to pathfind over them.

I actually did something just like this, except I moved them (through the nether) to a sealed off woodland mansion (front door closed off with a button activated iron door). They've been roaming around happily every time I come back. At 16:30, I would do a lever activated redstone door with iron bars.

Really nice retirement house. But maybe you should put fences out around the entrance to keep the ranged weapons far enough out? I know my feelings would be hurt if I went through the effort to move them over and they got disappeared by pillagers.

Instead of rails; if you dig down two blocks, then place three carpets on top of each other you will get a cleaner effect than random rails on the ground
