I've had this one for a couple of weeks but so far a perfect merger of the 2 Genesis controllers

Before receiving the controllers, I had been worried about the dpad, since the previous retro-bit six-button controllers were a little too floaty for my liking, and I did have issues with unintentional input with them. But the BIG6's dpad is perfection. Neither as flat as the original nor as floaty as the remakes, it strikes the perfect balance. I can honestly say the BIG6 is my favorite controller of all time. Very glad to have found this channel. Games and guitars? Sign me up!

Haha thanks man! This is definitely up there for sure. My #1 will always be the Saturn model 2 controller though

But that _start button!_ Why did they do that? It's even worse if you're accustomed to the distinctive look of the _early_ Mega Drive controllers with a shocking _red_ start button… perhaps summoning up the memory of the red and black SMS…

Yeeeah that was a legit "wtf" moment right there. I always miss it because muscle memory tells me to aim above that. They could have at LEAST made it stick out a bit instead of being flush.

Also, the d-pad is so good, it now feels like shit to use the SNES d pad.

I was never a fan of the SNES dpad. It's serviceable but it doesn't compare to many others. If you're going to get a SNES controller though get an 8bitdo SN30. They're far superior to the OEM ones.

Man, i don't think i could ever go back to the original 1989 and later 90's 3 button genesis controllers anymore. Even if you score one in good condition on eBay, there are no good silicone membrane inner-button replacements online to make the buttons & D-pad feel as good as they did brand new out of the box. There's only one seller in Australia that sells them, but they don't match the quality of lets say Console5, so why even bother. I've got the OG red accented genesis controller currently and i wouldn't recommend it to anybody other than for pure nostalgia. It 'looks' awesome and super iconic and it's the first genesis controller i ever had back in the day, but the D-pad is mediocre, and too ridged. Sega improved the D-pad with the 2nd & 3rd white accented 90's 3 button controllers, but eh. Buttons will still feel kinda mushy since there's no good membrane replacements online. But ya, this new Big6 seemed like an end-game Genny controller. But i hear it's D-pad is a bit wonky. it sometimes registers UP when you're actually pressing to the right(etc) since you can easily and accidentally rock the D-pad upwards when attempting to press it in a different direction. Guess I'll bounce back to Retro-Bit's wireless 6 button until something better eventually comes out. :P

I haven't had any false or accidental inputs with any of my Retrobit controllers actually and I've got several. Hyperkin stuff though is a whole other story.

The buttons on the Retrobit controllers ars a little too firm and make a "thunk" as it moves in and out. The original controller doesn't do that and didn't when it was new. Other than that, it seems fine. Although the Dpad does have some quirks as well when compared to the original 6 button dpad (ie it was too easy to accidentially press up or down when pressing right or left) . Also the start button is pretty hard to press without looking down at it so far Edit: i just cant understand fir the life of me why nobody mentions the chunky harder to press button feel. The 8bitdo controllers have that issue and the retrobit ones do also. ie- mortal kombat "test your might" will prove my point. You have to like press the buttons down with force that slows me down massively. 3rd party controllers have always had that issue. I guess your calling that "springy", but i call it a rubber thunk that needs too mich force to be as quickas with the og 6 button or 3 button, which had zero "thunk" feel Edit 2: thats interesting that you are noticing that the sega og 6 button controller has stiffer face button than the big 6 but not on mine. I hav3 retrobit genesis controllers and like 7 original genesis cintrollers and they ALL hae way less stiff buttons than any of the retrobits. Weird

I hear ya when it comes to the stiffer buttons on alot of the third party controllers. I've had several. This one at least for me was just a little different. It still has a little bit of a click to it but not nearly as bad as most. I compare it to like a Saturn model 2 controller.
