Hey Joe. I still have my EOS 1D, although it is strictly on display now. I bought it used in 2004 for a whopping $2990 USD! I was over the moon with that camera. Took it to Monaco for the F1 race, and everywhere else I went! I took a picture of my then girlfriend (now wife) that I had enlarged to 60cmx100cm! Had it framed, and it is still on the wall. The 1/16000th shutter speed, and 8fps were amazing in the early/mid 2000s if hardly ever used. I retired it in 2009 when I upgraded to the EOS 1Ds Mk II. So now it (and my 1Ds MkII) are on permanent display in my home office still as fully functional as when they were active.

the night shooting capabilities are amazing.....I used this camera to shoot for The Tampa Tribune in Tampa Florida and the Images were amazing......

I started out with the 1D but all depends on you print size .To be honest with you i made alot of 16x20 prints! Also back in 2001 Leonard Nimoy From StarTreck bought from me a 16x20 print from the 1D. People are into much megapixels! How many do you really need! Fact my Mark IV at 16 megapixel is all i really need! And the mirror less cameras No thank you! A little about me i started a 5 years old talking photos and still doing it! By the way i been in broadcasting 50 years! My 2 passions in life! If you got the money to burn buy the best! But if you know photography and software then you dont need to but a hi megapixel camera! As'you mentioned MPB i buy all my gear from them! Alot safer than buying off a want ad! At least you have a 6 month warranty! Last i have my personal cameras and i keep them mint! My working cameras well when i buy them they have scratches ext And paint off because i dont have the time when working to baby them! By the way that 16x20 i mentioned i sold from the 1D to Mr.Nimoy i got$2900.00 U.S. back then for it!
