In this video I want to do a follow up and show you how much improved the Retro Shooter is compared to it's initial release in 2023. I think you will be surprised on how much better this product is in 2024!

Kevgret, Quick update! I just started my journey to building a Retro Shooter cabinet for my Home Arcade. The first part was to secure a cabinet. I decided to go with Arcade1Up's Time Crisis, not only because the cabinet itself looks visually stunning to me (my favorite of their lightgun cab designs), but it was also on a great sale (the only way I would get it), and it also works best for my current arcade space, size-wise. I'm going to try the Time Crisis cabinet stock first to see what Arcade1Up brings to the table, because I plan to do a review at some point. I'm then going to purchase the Retro Shooter kit and also plan to test it out stock to see how the out of the box experience is. The final piece, and the reason I wanted an Arcade1Up cabinet as a shell, are the AMAZING mod kits on offer from the Buy Stuff Store! I'm going to purchase their ultimate control panel, which comes with two top mounted holsters, as well as a joystick with 6 buttons seated between the two! And this top tier option doesn't just come with just a random generic joystick, it's actually IRL quality and the buttons are upgraded as well! I'm also going to get their 19" screen upgrade to get a bigger 4:3 experience (17" isn't ideal). And I love that all of this is plug and play and made specifically for the cabinet. All in all, it's going to cost a bit, but you get what you pay for and I don't mind paying more for better quality (unless it's outrageous for what you're getting, of course). Now all this is going to take a few months for me due to I'm still recovering from a major surgery, but I'm excited to see how it turns out. I was wondering if you were planning to do more update videos on the Retro Shooter Kit if they get new games? I really appreciated this coverage and I think it's awesome they are able to do it through wifi! I think it would be cool if they were able to add the arcade version of Chiller and make their arcade Exidy collection complete! And though I'd also love to see some more House of the Dead games, as well as Carnevil, realistically, I know the hardware probably isn't powerful enough (though I can dream). I was able to order the 4 sensor upgrade a little bit over a month ago they did a small run. I definitely noticed an improvement overall after adding the additional 2 sensors. I'm still waiting on the game update though. I purchased mine back in August

Kevgret, Such great updates! I've never heard of a company improving an existing Pandora's box and they're doing it. This is awesome! I had a couple of questions. If I was to get a Retro Shooter box, I'd want it strictly for lightgun games. Is there a way to hide all the other systems on this Pandora's box, so only the shooter titles show up? In settings? I'd love to just boot this up and only lightgun games show. Do you have to reposition the sensors on the TV when playing things in 4:3 aspect ratio? I may choose Retro Shooter box for my Home Arcade as my lightgun solution. I think because they remind me a lot of Arcade1Up. You know, how Arcade1Up keeps fixing things quickly and is always adding new games to our wifi enabled cabinets... Uh... Well... So Retro Shooter Box is nothing like Arcade1Up 🤣 That's a good thing! yo dude! You can make a favorite list and add all of the light gun games.... alternatively the games are sorted by category and there is a light gun category so its very easy to get to the gun games.. Thats all I have been playing.. I barely touched the other 5,000 games... The sensors have no problems adjusting to the 4:3 aspect ratio.. Ive been playing the laserdisc in both 16:9 and 4:3 to see if there is a difference and I have not seen any. Depending what cabinet you have its pretty easy to add this.. buy stuff has a bunch of different kits you can purchase for the T2, Time crisis and the atgames legends ultimate..

Kevgret, Thank you SO MUCH for the new information! I think the retro shooter box is going to be my choice now for a lightgun cab experience in my Home Arcade. My plan is to see if Arcade1Up's Time Crisis cab comes down to $300. Then I'll get it as a shell and replace its internal components with the Buy Stuff Store 19" monitor along with their control panel. Then I'll get the Retro Shooter Box and add it as the brains. If that doesn't go to plan, then I'm looking to get a ceiling mount and a 24" or so monitor and add the retro shooter box to that. It's so great that these 3rd party companies are giving us a way to expand our arcades without having to go out and buy new cabs all the time, though this project would possibly be getting a Time Crisis cab as a shell. But as with my OutRun cab, I got the Buy Stuff Store racing mod as well as their 19" screen, so I won't have to remove the stock PCB from the original monitor and can go back if I ever want to. It just goes to show, that if the 1st party companies can't get it done then 3rd party developers will step up and take our money instead :) Thanks again Kev! Has anyone else noticed that somehow all the wild west laser games now use the same shooting and reload sound effects from lethal enforcers the original games had completely different sound effects now your old West six shooter sounds like a 44 Magnum...kind of odd.

Shoot outside the screen! Still hear the Lethal Enforcers soundtrack every time I just think about light gun games. That and House of the Dead. Both very memorable terrible audio jobs on otherwise great fun games hehe. Yes lethal enforcers sound files are a favorite of audio clone pirates dating all the way back to bad clone games made at the time of its popularity. Maybe the sound clips came from mass marketed sound clips CDs that nearly every studio owns, maybe it's all the proto unity asset dump garbage steam game type of yesteryear into today 😉

Yes they are included if you buy today.. they said when the update is ready they are including revolution x for free too..

@@rushmore3927 Anyone who orders the retro shooter after 11/1 will receive their box updated with all the laser disc games (except revolution X) and also the 4 sensor upgrade... I ordered mine late november so it has these games already installed

you have to plug ethernet cable into the pandora console and it should update auto from the internet.

All of the laser disc games will be made available as a firm ware update when its ready. The retro shooter team has been working on this update for a while so I think it won't be too long before you can get it

@@kevgret OK that’s great. I actually bought the retro shooter in October and It didn’t have the new games. Crime patrol and my dog are my two favorite shooting games. I actually still play them on my 3DO.. so I can’t wait until we get that free download.
