Dear Asher Roth, Hey Asher my name is Andre and im 17 years old, and im from Atlanta, GA. I have been struggling with depression for about a good long time now. When I was 15 years old, my mom developed breast cancer, which caused her to get laid off from her job, and eventually without any funds at all. Without any funds, we were not able to pay any of the bills, so we lost our apartment; from there we moved in with my cousins where we stayed there until Christmas of 2013. During that time while we lived with my cousins, I was out of my school's district zone, so I would have to ride the short bus just to get to school. It was embarrassing. From there, my depression developed; and it was strong. On the week of Christmas, me & my mother were kicked out of our cousin's house because my older cousin Alethia's son was coming home from college, and had no place to stay. Which lead us to become homeless. From there, we ended up moving away to live with my grandparents in South Carolina. Since then, my mom has had 4 major surgeries, and her condition has gotten even worse. She still doesn't have a job, so me and my mother have no income coming in at all. With there being no income coming in, I had to do what I had to do. I started selling drugs, and I sold all of sneakers to have money to support me and my mom. My depression got even worse from then. I have been in South Carolina for over a year now, and now we are about to move again to Philadelphia due to family issues & more financial issues. My depression continued to get worse, and I even thought about ending it all and committing suicide. I recently purchased your latest album Retrohash because I have always supported your mixtapes, and I loved songs like Muddy Swim Shorts, Neighbor, and Dope Shit. And when I first played the album, I fell in love with it. Last night, I looked your name on KZfaq to see if you had any music videos for the album; and I came across the music video to Fast Life off Retrohash. I admitt, the video made me cry. But since watching your video, I am no longer depressed. Your video inspired me so much. Those few short words "We are all lucky" touched me so much.
