These were indeed live vocals! Chan had actually messaged us after saying he was disappointed with how his vocals sounded live during this performance. But they were asked literally last minute to perform with only a week or two to prepare. I personally think they all did AMAZING. It's so crazy that Hyunjin was basically the center of them announcing they were joining Kingdom only for him to not even get to participate :(

I strongly recommend the MAMA triangular fight performance, it was basically a set up for Kingdom and it happened directly after this performance with Hyunjin, San from Ateez and Juyeon from Tbz.

Dude jumped and landed on beat... That's some impressive ish. I mean if you jump 1-2 inches too high you're landing wont be on time with beat same if you jump too short/low, not even talking about the ankles and knees risks, plus this is live, you miss, you can't start over. Props to Hyunjin

Honestly, even a year later I’m still nowhere near over this performance! On one hand, it’s production is amazing and they killed this. What makes it better is Chan was pissed that Mnet didn’t tell them until last minute they were performing AND he gave them a B-side TRACK lmao!! What makes this better is, there’s something called “Triangular Fight” with Hyunjin, The Boyz’ JuYeon, and ATEEZ’ San that’s so epic but it’s only a minute and a half long. Definitely worth the watch if you want to see another amazing performance! Thank you for voicing EXACTLY how I felt when I first saw this!!

Hyunjin's stage presence is unparalleled! Nobody performs like him - he completely embodies the song and the character required for each performance. He's simply phenomenal. This particular performance by SKZ is among my favorites; they were absolutely incredible!

Yes, this is an intro to Kingdom. The Boyz and Ateez also performed songs reminiscent of kings and had flags with their logos which were designed for Kingdom. If you haven't already, you should watch their 2020 MAMA performances as well and the dance with Juyeon, Hyunjin, and San where they fight over the crown.
