At $1.6 million, the Tour boasts the richest prize fund ever for a series of online chess events. Players from around the world compete to win 9 titles and the crown of overall Tour Champion. Nowhere else has this level of competition.
Players compete in 6 “Regular” and 3 “Major” online rapid chess tournaments spread out over the Tour season. Two Regulars will be followed by a Major with the pattern repeated until all are completed. Regulars will feature 16 players in a prelim round and then only 8 players qualify to the knockout. Majors will feature 8 qualifying players in a simple all-play-all format. Cash prizes are available for placings in each event. The player who finishes top of the Tour leaderboard will be declared the overall Tour Champion.

I got my first chessbook from my grandfather, a book printed in the 1940s. It was of course out of date but I started reading it out of curiosity and Kings gambit was the first opening covered. The strategy and stories about the opening really got me interested in chess and to this day 20 years later my love and nostalgia for the kings gambit is still very strong!

If you play the Kings gambit, you should know the Wagenbach variation. It's very odd but it has claimed a few masters scalps. It goes 1 e4 e5 2 f4 e x f4 3 Nf3 (or similar) h5. This line produces some very odd positions for the K gambit. It is not uncommon for both sides to end up casting queen side. Its very hard work for black but if black makes it out of the opening black is ususlly on top.

The opening is crucial! You can lose the game in the opening if you make big inaccuracies/blunders.

I have an idea, all of games are for GMs, I'd suggest you show some of the games for a lower level players; not all of the viewers are of such rank, then give them the opportunity to watch what an IM or less play, thanks

I crush this countergambit as an 1800. People think its a sharp line but if you just study the main moves/tricks, theres really just nothing to it. Just ez wins and ez to study.
